Job Description : AccountantContract until 31st December 2022FCDORemote Working (UK) This role is key support for the Management Accounts Team, ideal for someone qualified or studying to qualify as an accountant. You will be a part of the team responsible for ensuring that HMG successfully delivers the ODA target for 2022, as well as being involved in the provision and analysis of key financial information to support senior official and Ministerial decision making. Main roles / responsibilities could includeAs an Accountant- you will have the following duties and responsibilities: · Support in reporting in OSCAR to HM Treasury, and the delivery of FCDO’s Supply Estimates· Support financial decision making through assisting in the creation of the Management Board pack and Supervisory Board Corporate Dashboard; providing financial insight and analysis and advice to key stakeholders across the organisation· Provide and interpret internal, external & statutory information as required to draft responses to Parliamentary Questions, Freedom of Information requests and in support of FCDO’s external scrutiny bodies.You will also have the following skills/experience: · Studying for, or a fully qualified member of, one of the five Consultative Committees of Accounting Bodies [CCAB] i.e. ACCA; CIPFA; ICAEW; ICAI or ICAS, or CIMA, or a European or international equivalent qualification· SC Clearance is required for this role- the ideal candidate will hold an active clearance · Knowledgeable in one or more area of management accounting and cost analysis, planning and budgeting and financial accounting. You can set and interpret financial policy in these areas and, combining this with sound business knowledge, are able to provide advice, guidance and leadership to others.· Understand different financial planning and budgeting techniques and their application in different contexts. You can analyse, manage and present complex financial information clearly both verbally and in writing to support organisational decision-making.· Delivering at Pace: You are organised and can plan ahead, taking responsibility for delivering outcomes on time and being able to reassess and change workload and priorities if the situation changes.
