The platform, which will eventually be offered in 15 languages, enables investors to conduct combinatorial quantitative, qualitative, industry, product-service and company queries, to generate a very specific result set. There are shared community, machine learning and investor-actionable elements to the technology and platform.Job DescriptionIssuer Pixel is looking for a Director of Research. The individual will be responsible for overseeing the construction of industry taxonomies, creating and refining training material for direct reports, collaborating with the CEO, CTO, CIO, Customer Success, and Business Development, interfacing with software development to improve the taxonomy building process, and other executive duties. Taxonomies are the central aspect of the Issuer Pixel Platform architecture, and this role is one of the most important in the company. What is an industry taxonomy? Let’s take the Aerospace industry as an example: Our team has identified over 6,000 different segments within the Aerospace industry. This allows a company to categorize their video-and-audio content exactly where they belong within the Aerospace industry. If you are a company that designs software for attack helicopters, we have a segment for you to upload your content. If you are a company that manufactures seats for commercial jets, we have another segment for you to upload your content. Our industry taxonomies allow companies to upload their content to the exact place they belong within an industry. What’s the benefit of this? It allows companies to be easily found by all users of the Issuer Pixel platform.This position is one of the most important roles at Issuer Pixel – it is also one of the most intellectually fulfilling roles. Through this position, you will learn about various industries, as well as the various companies and products/services within each industry. You will also lead a team of rockstar Research Associates, who always have great ideas on how to benefit the Research Department, as well as Issuer Pixel in general.Responsibilities include:· Leading the Research Associates (the individuals who build industry taxonomies) to ensure taxonomies are being built accurately and comprehensively.· Reviewing all taxonomies before officially publishing them on the Issuer Pixel website.· Creating and refining training material to ensure new Research Associates can be quickly onboarded.· Collaborating with the CEO, CTO, CIO, Customer Success, and Business Development to ensure important industries are being prioritized.· Interface with software development to improve the taxonomy building process and platform, to enable industry analyst to work at maximum efficiency.· Create rule sets with Research Associates and software development, to improve how data is organized in taxonomies.· Recruiting and hiring new Research Associates to join the Issuer Pixel team.Qualifications and Skills: 7+ years of research or finance experienceDegree in Business or Finance preferred. CFA preferred.Previous management experience.Extremely skilled at conveying technical subjects into simple terms.Extremely skilled at Excel and PowerPoint.Good communication skills and attention to detail.A love for learning about new industries.Access to the internet and ability to participate in video conferences.Team players who can be relied upon to complete tasks and add value to our product.About the OpportunityWe are seeking a Director of Research to help us further build our startup!
