As the Engineering Manager, you will be charged with leading a team of highly qualified software engineers to build a multi–OS client app for our enterprise as well as retail customers.
You have exceptional skill in a strong broad-based leadership background with specialized, proven experience in building cross-platform solutions, knowledge of public/hybrid/private cloud space, and will bring your knowledge to help create best-in-class experiences.

Key Responsibilities
Drive the execution and delivery of platform and application features by collaborating with cross functional teams, architects, product owners and engineers
Make critical decisions that attribute to the success of the product development and delivery
Effectively communicate program status, escalate issues, and guide and influence strategic decision-making.
Manages relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs; ensures that team members are effectively communicating and collaborating with outsourced resources.
Partner with multiple OS and hardware vendors on new Technology Enablement plan
Manages resourcing, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects and programs, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated, and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.
Ensuring teams have clear priorities and adequate resources. Represent the team at higher levels and remove hurdles to enable each team member to operate at the highest level of efficiency and productivity
Empowering the delivery team to self-organize. Be a multiplier and have a passion for team and team members’ success.
Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement
Maintaining high morale and motivating the delivery team to go above and beyond
Advocating for technical excellence and helping the teams make good decisions
Hire, mentor and manage the performance of the team
Participating in architecture discussions, planning, design, code reviews, troubleshooting and feature verifications to assist teams with release commitments, to gain understanding of the deeply technical product as well as to keep your technical acumen sharp
Education and Required Experience
Masters / Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Equivalent Experience
3+ years management experience in software engineering
Current, hands-on application development experience (utilizing C#/C++/C, Java etc. on primarily Windows, but Linux/Android exposure as well)
10+ years of relevant and successful platform and application development combined with technical leadership across a broad and relevant career
Knowledge and Skills
Expert in all parts of the SW development lifecycle, and able to contribute directly from scoping initial program deliverables to evolving large and established SW systems
Strong experience in delivering customer facing platform and applications that scale and are highly available.
Strong relationship management skills, including partnership with external vendors.
Leadership skills, including coaching, teambuilding, conflict resolution, and management.
Project management skills including time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Well versed in usability and development of cross platform applications. Knowledge of multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux, Android, etc.)
Experience with multiple programming languages including but certainly not limited to: C/C++, .Net Core/C#, Java, Go or Rust.
Ability to design complex but modular applications with excellent run-time characteristics such as low-latency, fault-tolerance, and availability
Ability to review designs and code, provide actionable feedback, and the detail orientation to follow-up on all technical topics
Strong business acumen, verbal, and written communication skills, and demonstrated technical leadership.
Must be organized, flexible and able to act independently, with ability to switch rapidly between different projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and small-group presentation skills, ability to communicate effectively with core team, extended stakeholders, and leadership
