The business is looking drive growth through the continued development of tasty, innovative food and beverage offerings within their inviting, community feel venues alongside it’s new loyalty app and e-commerce platform that has been created to meet the ever-changing needs of consumers within their target markets. Due to ongoing store growth and increased demand from the market, the business is looking for a Category Manager to join their Marketing & Merchandise team, to help drive the exciting and innovative direction of the business.
About the role
Reporting to the Head of Marketing & Category, the Category Manager will lead the growth and development of all categories by building customer focused category and merchandise plans, category campaigns and initiatives and the product innovation pipeline. You will play a vital role to ensure plans achieve delivery of sales and margin budgets and objectives. You will create, manage and implement strategies and plans across all beverages including espresso and blended beverages, food and retail merchandise. You will have the opportunity to work closely within a small but passionate cross functional team, managing all key stakeholders to develop product offerings and brand initiatives which appeal to key customer segments and are in line with the business’ vision
Experience and qualifications
Degree level qualification in marketing/business or relevant discipline
Minimum 10+ years’ experience in retail buying, category management within a comparable retail environment with digital/eCommerce exposure a distinct advantage
Passion for coffee, food and retail environments
Strong knowledge of category management discipline including merchandise and portfolio planning, management processes, frameworks and tools
Excellent understanding of analysing data and customer insights and leveraging their application to influence others and deliver business outcomes
Extensive supplier management experience with strong negotiating and influencing skills
Proven success in growing categories and managing through complex, flexible and fast paced environments
Excellent understanding of marketing, store operations and supply chain
Product development experience including innovation and transformation projects
Curious personality that has a strong understanding of a highly competitive retail environment
Able to move from shaping strategies through to managing day to day operations of the categories
Ability to independently lead and influence others to get behind key initiatives
Experience in food and beverage highly dresible but not essential.
