Greenwellgleeson are exclusively recruiting for a Financial Controller to join a growing, well established Logistics and Warehousing business based in Solihull with a prestigious client base.

This is a great position for the right person to bring their skills and best practise to the finance function. The role will involve managing the day to day running of the finance department, ensuring robust processes, controls and systems are in place and operating well to support detailed, accurate and prompt financial reporting to the two Directors of the business and other stakeholder. There is opportunity to drive business performance and run cost saving initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
Day to day management of the transactional finance department
Cash flow forecasting

Management of the invoice finance funding facility to provide optimum facilities and ensure remains reconciled to the finance provider records at month end Ensuring accurate and timely production of monthly management accounts for a cost centre based operational business
Maintain accounts for group companies
Present monthly financial reports to the Board of Directors and for external stakeholders to include covenant monitoring.
Maintain and continuously review financial policies and procedures.
Complete control of the Year End process and preparing records for audit
Manage the annual audit process and communicating directly with the auditors
Support to key stakeholders in any finance related adhoc projects, experience of tender costing and integrated forecasts would be helpful
VAT and PAYE tax management and regular compliance
Being the go-to Finance Person for the Directors and making necessary recommendations for the good of the business.
Assist in the transition from Sage 50 to Sage 200

The Person:
Qualified Accountant or Qualified by Experience (ACA,ACCA,CIMA,QBE)
Commercially minded and expected to get under the skin of the business
Pro-active, organised and self-motivated
A strong team player and role model – able to engage other team members and involve, train, and develop junior staff
Ability to work to deadlines
Must be able to prioritise workflows
Advanced excel skills and interest in using IT to improve reporting/analysis
Experience of Sage 50 desirable or more complex systems
Experience of working within the Logistics sector, or a similar multi-site/multi cost centre business.
