What is the Data Management Team group responsible for?
The Data Management Team manages business data to ensure accurate, timely, consistent and compliant data. Their contributions deliver quality data that is easily accessible and can be trusted. Key downstream capabilities such as reporting and analytics depend on this as well as operational data access on various systems. This is a technology function that acts as an advocate and a point of contact for Sales and Marketing data within Global Advisory Services division. It is expected that all members within the team have a sense of operational excellence and a sense for details to ensure timeliness and accuracy in handling data. Team members must have a mature disposition, be personable, and work well within teams across time zones.
What is the Manager – Global Client Data Management responsible for?
Data is critical and a competitive differentiator in our industry, especially for Global Advisory Services (GAS). A well thought through enterprise-wide data ecosystem is an urgent need, and the ability includes the need for the intelligence derived from this data to be operationalized for better decision making across distribution. This team and the leader of this team will play a vital role in the strategic scoping and implementation of this data ecosystem for GAS. This is a complex development and requires the leader to be clear of his / her vision, good at articulating it and collaborating with other teams to deliver on this vision. The leader is responsible to:
Understand the data flow, key consumption and production of data and generate ideas to automate data pipelines. Provide data management subject matter expertise. Appreciate the connection and data flow between applications and other corporate systems. Be able to clearly articulate the data needs and move initiatives forward by collaborating with business partners. Provide accurate and consistent data with expertise in Data Operations, Quality and Governance Increase awareness and promote data management capabilities. Share best practices and enable coaching on how to access and incorporate output into sales tasks. Lead and Mentor the Data Management Team members.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of Manager – Global Client Data Management?
Understand the sales process, priorities and challenges; resolving issues and identifying areas to automate and add value.
Provide accurate and consistent data with subject matter expertise in Data Operations, Quality and Governance
Appreciate the connection and data flow between applications and other corporate systems.
Ability to clearly articulate business needs and move data initiatives forward by collaborating with business partners.
Monitor the integrity of data and ensure appropriate stewardship in line with enterprise guidelines.
Ensure that the information available within all systems is accurate and up-to-date.
Proactively seek data cleansing opportunities and run regular data audits.
Document, maintain and execute ongoing processes for data clean-up and metadata maintenance.
Increase awareness and promote data capabilities.
Share best practices and provide coaching to data consumers on how to best produce and consume data.
Supervision and mentoring of the Data Management team
Set up a GAS Distribution Data ecosystem, that allows efficient use of data intelligence. Work with Business Technology partners and internal Technology teams to deliver this.
Implement a framework for data quality, accuracy, and governance for the entire ecosystem, ensuring confident downstream usage.
Collaborate a variety of stakeholders, both on the business end user side, as well as several technology teams in the design, build and implementation of this data ecosystem.
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
Post-graduate, preferably an MBA with Engineering background
Understanding of the Franklin Templeton business model, how FT makes money, the sales process, how technology fits in with the business, etc. Knowledge of the GAS (Global Advisory Services) structure.
Experience working through multiple business fiscal cycles; exposure and/or direct experience with project management and/or sales-related-capacity required.
Prior work experience related to analytics, sales, marketing and/or international a must. 15 years of experience, with atleast 5 years in the financial industry
Experience in managing enterprise level data and exposure to its underlying technology ecosystems.
Expert knowledge of the MDM, Excel, SQL, Data Analysis and Automation tools to automate ongoing maintenance of data pipelines
Ability to take a larger problem and break down the individual components; identify how to go about solving the problem and who to involve in the process.
Ability to present recommended solutions to a variety of issues and problems (solutions that are consistent with organization objectives).
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management; ability to tailor communication style based on audience; ability to get others to want to collaborate with you; strong facilitation skills.
Excellent writing skills (for presentations, documentation, etc.).
Must be extremely detail-oriented (tracking budgets, managing lists, tasks/to-dos, etc.); good with follow through on own items; good with following up with others on outstanding item
Shift Work Timing – 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM IST
