Job Description : Part time- 22 hours a week£12,259 progressing to £13,622Our opening ours are 5pm to 10pm Monday to Friday, and 10am to 10pm at weekends and bank holidays.We are looking to recruit a Mental Health Recovery Worker for our Safe Haven services in Newport and Ryde, Isle of Wight. This is a rewarding role where you are able to empower people every day to develop their skills and achieve their potential.You will be working as part of a team to provide support to individuals who are experiencing a mental health crisis, within an out of hours service. You will provide telephone, email or face to face support to seek and understand why someone is at crisis point and work with them to take steps to reduce the crisis. Your positive attitude towards your work and others will help to contribute to a great working environment. You will have a calm and personable manner and be able to handle potentially difficult situations.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESYou will greet, assess and provide person centered support to all individuals accessing the serviceYou will record and maintain client records, ensuring risk assessments and safety plans are detailed and accurateYou will be effective in de-escalating difficult situations, ensuring that you adhere to all lone working and safeguarding policiesIn order to signpost clients effectively, you will have good knowledge of partner agencies and additional services to support people in the community to manage their mental healthHelp to maintain a welcoming, safe environment, identifying and minimising all potential risks to users of the premises and the organisation and propertyWork in accordance with the Health and Safety regulations and all policies and proceduresYou will be able to work within a team environment, but also use your own initiative to escalate to appropriate services when requiredAttend supervision, appraisal, training and meetings as directed which may be outside your normal working patternWork flexibly across all areas of operation where required and prior notice givenAny other reasonable task as requested by a member of staffESSENTIAL CRITERIA FOR ROLEPrevious experience in this type of work is not essential but you will have a real passion for wanting to work within a Mental Health Service.
