Job Description : M&S International operates across over 100 different territories with 470 stores and over 100 websites covering Europe, Asia and the Middle East. It is an exciting time to join the International Team as it enters the growth phase of the transformation plan in developing an online first business expanding its global reach and evolving in new ways to engage and excite our customer base.
The Financial Planning and Analysis function has a meaningful role to play in delivering the International strategy through coordinating a high quality planning cycle, providing inquisitive challenge and delivering decision support across the International group.
This presents an excellent opportunity for a Senior Finance Manager to join the forefront of our growth phase of the strategy working alongside the International Leadership Team and global Finance Directors to guide the business through its transformation delivery.
Key Accountabilities:
Delivery of the International planning cycle including regular forecasting, annual Budget and longer term strategy
Driving the International store estate strategy including working with local Managing Directors and Finance Directors on new appraisals for approval at the International Property Committee
Business partnering of the International Retail Director, providing ad hoc financial analysis on the store estate strategy
Key contact for Investor Relations, leading half-year and year-end performance analysis and articulation of the future plans for the International business
Preparation of performance analysis for quarterly business reviews, providing insightful analysis and highlighting key risks and opportunities
Management of the International Business Planning process from a financial perspective, supporting Franchise Relationship Managers to ensure alignment with the growth agenda
Analysis of weekly trading performance, understanding key issues and takeaways
Work closely with Group FP&A, ensuring all results and timelines are understood across International Finance
Working with the Senior Finance Managers to develop talent planning within the team
Line management of one direct report
Key Skills:
Qualified accountant (ACA /CIMA/ACCA)
Project management of the planning cycle, organising business partners and delivering high quality output to meet agreed timeframes
Strong organisation skills with the ability to balance several priorities at one time
Ability to challenge and influence senior business partners, presenting information in an astute and concise manner
Excellent analytical skills, able to interpret data sets into insightful and valuing adding analysis
Ability to build positive relationships across the International Group (Finance and non-Finance) with a collaborative style that delivers outputs through others
Confident adapting in an evolving environment, and working with pace
