Reporting into the Head of Treasury, Capital and Liquidity (TCL) IT and working across a globally distributed team (500+ resources), the successful candidate will be responsible for building a Big Data competency for the department. The role will be critical in defining the strategic direction for this proficiency and to delivery of data solutions to key programs within the department.
The candidate will also perform a Leadership role for the India based TCL IT organization (~330 resources), which forms a significant % of the department footprint. In this capacity, the candidate will lead and handles teams comprised of Employees and Contingent Workforce, evaluate and optimize team structure and performance, partner with senior level IT and business partners, drive forward delivery, address local HR, compliance and regulatory issues, etc.

Your skills and experience
This role is for an experienced Big Data & Cloud Competency & India Regional Manager within the TCL IT department. The TCL IT team is involved in delivery of various strategic projects for the aligned Treasury, Capital and Liquidity business areas, by collaborating with global teams spread across Poland, Switzerland, London, US, India, and Singapore.
We are seeking a Big Data & Cloud Team Leader to join a growing, high-visibility team that is developing and deploying solutions to some of Credit Suisse’s most challenging analytical problems. Role will oversee the inception and evolution of a Big Data Competency including onboarding the required resources to build the capability and serve as ambassador to evangelize the use of Big Data to support organization goals. Role will communicate with senior level leaders to present strategic opportunities that align to the target state, define business cases and develop plans/roadmaps that clearly articulate the journey toward advanced Big Data solutions and analytics.
This role will also lead the TCL IT department within Pune and provide necessary oversight to a committed growing team of approximately 330 resources.
10+ years of related experience with accountability for building and leading teams of Data scientists, Data engineers, data analysts, etc. and delivering Big Data solutions
Solid experience with Big Data platform covering, Hadoop, Spark, Impala, HBase, No-SQL DB, HIVE, Kafka using Java.
Proficient knowledge in Big Data Architecture Strategy, Big Data performance tuning and ensuring the best methodologies across projects.
Outstanding understanding of public cloud technologies (Google/AWS/Azure), cloud architecture principles, IaaS, PaaS, serverless/containers and cloud migration strategies.
Ability to deliver on results and build organizational capabilities and responsiveness and strengthening team expertise
Possess detailed knowledge and understanding of statistical methodology and concepts, ability to extract key messages or underlying trends within data
Ability to learn and work with structured and unstructured data and combine data processing techniques to achieve outcomes, possess knowledge and understanding of data visualization techniques relevant to big data
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities change quickly
Capability to succeed in an environment that relies on building support in other groups
Leverages internal and external relationships and communicates clearly
Thinks strategically, but stays on top of tactical execution
Experience managing and building effective, dedicated teams and overseeing the activities of a large technology department
