Working Hours: 21hrs pw

You will lead on the presentation of timely budgets and forecasts that inform the CEO and the Board of Trustees and you will be a team player. You will inspire people to ask, ‘how can we do it even better,’ and will support project staff on finances.
You may have Management Accountancy experience in the Charity Sector, you may not; you may have experience of volunteering, you may not. Either way, you will have finance experience, and be able to evidence your transferable skills.

Job Description
Purpose of the Job
Reporting to the CEO and KCV Trustees, to provide effective financial planning, monitoring, and reporting services and to lead on the co-ordination of KCV’s procurement requirements.
Main duties and responsibilities
To prepare budgets, produce management accounts and forecasts. To produce financial reports for the CEO, Board of Trustees and funders. To provide sound financial advice and guidance.
Tasks:
Prepare and present management accounts, forecasts and cash flow statements, as required for the CEO and Board of Trustees and the AGM.
Prepare KCV’s annual budget in consultation with the CEO and Project Budget Holders.
Prepare the financial information required for KCV’s funding applications, tenders, income generation and charged for services.
Prepare monthly and ad hoc financial reports of operational activities for meetings with the CEO and Project Budget Holders, grant funding bodies, alerting them to any over or underspends and required actions.
Contribute to the development of KCV’s longer-term financial and fundraising strategies.
Attendance at Trustee Board meetings, working closely with the Treasurer and supporting the work of the finance sub-group.
Supervision of the Finance Assistant.

Other duties and responsibilities
To act as KCV’s Data Protection Officer, ensuring KCV processes the personal data of its staff, customers, providers, or any other individuals in compliance with the applicable data protection rules.
To work with the CEO to coordinate KCV’s procurement requirements.

Person Specification
ESSENTIAL
Knowledge, Understanding and Qualifications
An accounting qualification or equivalent accounting experience (Training can be provided for the ideal candidate).
Experience in financial planning and the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
Experience in producing financial reports for a range of internal and external audiences.

Skills & Behaviours
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and reporting skills.
Ability to clearly explain financial information to non-finance specialists.
Ability to balance competing priorities and work to tight reporting deadlines.
Commitment to Continuing Professional Development.

Desirable
Working knowledge of Online Accounting packages (ideally QuickBooks).
An understanding of the voluntary sector.
Positive leadership and management skills
