Job Details
The Salesforce Industry Product team is building deep vertical CRM products – redefining each industry one by one. We bring the most innovative customer success platform, tailor it, extend it and introduce entirely new functionality to serve individual industry requirements and trends.

We are seeking a hardworking customer adoption advocate and inspiring leader who can empathize with customer adoption challenges, evangelize the needs of the ecosystem across internal teams and leaders, and help drive successful adoption of our Industries products.

This is an individual contributor role with broad responsibility and latitude to design programs, advise on content, and influence the processes that drive end user adoption. As you work across the many teams that influence adoption, you will gain a deep understanding of the points of friction or adoption barriers our customers and partners face, and will be a source of insight across the organization on how to solve these issues, leveraging your experience, learnings from pilots, and best practices in use by other product teams.

The first individual we are hiring will cover our Communications, Media, and Energy & Utilities products. Exposure to Product catalog, CPQ, and Order management complexities of these industries is likely essential. Knowledge of Vlocity products is helpful as well.

The second individual we are hiring we will focus on our Loyalty product and supporting common components. Both require exchaning a lot of data across multiple platforms (especially Sales Cloud and Marketing Cloud, as well as other external platforms) and discussions will occaisionally get pretty technical – so an Integration Architect background is helpful here.

Key Responsibilities
Leading your product’s adoption program – the full scope of workstreams across the organization – with monthly accountability and strategy review with Product and Salesforce Industries executives.
Guiding Product teams as they improve our products to be easier for customers to adopt
Advise Content and Enablement teams to ensure we are crafting the best technical content the ecosystem has seen
Working with customer-facing teams across regions and roles to identify and close gaps in field expert coverage via Field Professional programs and cross-team collaboration
Limited advisory work with customers and partners, to help them solve an immediate problem – but more importantly, to identify and close the gap that led to the problem in the first place (missing docs, missing experts, etc)
Executing pilots or experiments both within your product and across Industries, as we constantly innovate to deliver easier and more valuable adoption experiences for our customers
Collaborating with your fellow team members to support their efforts, share and learn from each other’s approaches, coordinate cross-industries initiatives, and make Industries products the best adoption experience at Salesforce

Some parts of the job can be exciting, but may also feel frustrating at times:
Newer products may not have supporting resources in all the roles that larger clouds do – you will need to find creative ways to help teams fill the gap
Certain teams or partners may not see your product as a priority – you will need to inspire them, and help them find great outcome for everyone approaches to embrace your product
As the product grows and demand for support increases, you will need to find innovative ways to scale through others
Some adoption problems may not be well understood, or have a clear solution – you will need to adopt the unknown, develop a credible and informed point of view, and build consensus across teams to execute a solution.

Key Qualities
Passion for Customer Success: You understand that the customer is the center of everything we do, and that the ultimate measure of success is the value that customers gain by demonstrating Salesforce solutions.
Organizational Leadership: You have led large teams and corporate initiatives, and are a strong executive communicator, influential consensus-builder, and organized facilitator. You inspire others to work together, and hold them accountable to their commitments.
Thought Leadership: You have a driven desire to understand the problem, and incorporate diverse perspectives and input into an informed point of view, which you evangelize to drive positive change
Industry Knowledge: You credibly demonstrate your understanding of the industry-specific processes your products support, the job profiles they serve, and the industry challenges and complexity that must be overcome.
Product Knowledge: You credibly demonstrate your deep understanding of your product’s capabilities, and the supporting capabilities of the Salesforce platform. Admins and architects look to you for technical guidance, and you can credibly articulate the technical implementation challenges or product limitation a customer is facing.
Adaptable: You embrace the fast-paced rate of change and innovation that is a constant at Salesforce, and rapidly re-align your initiatives when new direction is set. You adjust your priorities and time investment to match.
Grace under pressure: At times, there will be setbacks, missed deadlines, failed pilots, delayed initiatives, or overlapping deadlines. While no one enjoys these things, you take it in stride, as you see the bigger picture, and understand we are all in this to learn, grow, and succeed together.

Suggested Background (or equivalent):
Salesforce Implementation: You’ve likely spent 10+ years in technical hands-on roles implementing Salesforce as a customer or partner, in Solution Architect and Technical Architect roles, and don’t mind having to get hands-on from time to time.
Product Management: You understand the mind of a product manager, and the agile development process they follow, either due to your experience as a PM, close collaboration with PMs, or equivalent PM-like experience.
Relationship Management: You’ve spent time in non-technical or semi-technical roles that required you to build relationships with customer decision makers, influence their direction, work with their leaders, and resolve their most pressing issues.
Education: You likely hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing or related subject areas or

bring equivalent experience in technical leadership roles
