SUMMARY OF POSITION
This person shall be involved in the quality assurance stage of software development and deployment. You’ll conduct manual tests to ensure the software created by developers is fit for purpose and any bugs or issues are removed within a product before it gets deployed to users.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Analyses and understands requirements, devise a test strategy to adequately cover the requirements, develops high-level test scenarios that implement the strategy, elaborates scenarios into detailed test cases.
Reviews test artefacts with Business and Development team members and edits accordingly.
Owns the QA role throughout all projects by gathering requirements, writing, and executing tests, monitoring test progress, reporting status, logging defects, tracking and testing defect fixes, retesting and delivering.
Collaborates with the business and development teams to produce requirements that are well-documented and clear.
Maintains subject matter expertise for the systems under test and use that expertise to create, maintain and extend the test case library.
Participates in team process improvement to make sure everyone understands the development lifecycle.
Design, develop and maintain regression test beds and schedule test cycles. Report regression test results and analysis.
Execute all levels of testing (Functional, System, Integration, Regression, Accessibility, End to End, Usability, UX/ UI).
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development cycle.
Detect and track software defects and inconsistencies. Validate problem resolutions and software fixes as well as track issues and defects.
Apply quality engineering principals throughout the product lifecycle.
Provide regular contributions to test management reporting.
Provide support and documentation.
Manage defect status and other quality issues in a timely manner.
Utilize appropriate testing tools.
Over 3 to 4 Years’ experience in a selected area of expertise.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
2+ years of software testing and QA experience
Perform functional and non-functional tests. Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved to ensure high quality.
Extensive experience in functional test plan and design, functional and non-functional requirements, and black-box test case creation and execution.
Strong experience with Functional, End to End, Usability, UX/UI, Integration, exploratory testing and system regression testing
Hands-on experience for back-end testing and data verification
Proficiency with API testing
Proficient technical skills, and a capability to team up with software engineers to plan and design system integration tests.
Good Knowledge with test automation tools (such as Selenium, Cucumber, Appium, GIT, Jenkins etc.)
Programming knowledge in python, C/C++, Java
Knowledge on IDE – Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA, Chrome developer tools.
Knowledge on events domain
Familiarity in accessibility, automation and performance testing
Experience in working with multiple platforms: Windows/MacOS, Android/iOS
Good working knowledge with test management tools (Test Rail, JIRA)
Experience in project management and QA methodology
Up-to-date knowledge of software test design and testing methodologies.
Working knowledge of test techniques and compatibility with various software programs.
Ability to build trust by understanding customer requirements and addressing concerns.
