THE ROLE
Are you looking for an exciting role that supports a positive student experience at university by providing opportunities for participation and engagement in all things University Sport?
Campus Life has an opening for two University Sport Coordinators to join the University Sport team at Macquarie University. This is a new role, established after a review of the University Sport team structure and aimed to maximise participation and engagement in sport activities and initiatives while ensuring that offerings meet the evolving needs of the student community, are innovative, and contribute to a sense of belonging. A key aspect to the role is to create and implement strategies that ensure access and participation to students from marginalised, under-represented, and/or disadvantaged communities.
Reporting to the Manager, University Sport, you will be responsible for organising and coordinating student participation in University Sport programs and events (including Nationals and Inter-varsity competitions), supporting the governance and growth of Sport Clubs, and managing the Sport Scholar Program. Importantly, all programs and events should be designed with an inclusion lens and prioritise participation from a diverse student cohort.

In addition, you will meet the following criteria:
Relevant tertiary qualification and/or extensive experience in a relevant field
Demonstrated project/event management skills, including experience organising or facilitating mass participation events/competitions
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively, and to establish, build and maintain respectful and ethical relationships with the team, other staff, students, and other key stakeholders
Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing partnerships and/or sponsorships to increase member participation and revenue generation
Creative thinker who is open-minded, flexible and solutions focused
Demonstrated organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail
Commitment to the development and implementation of equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives and offerings that promote student participation and engagement
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and well-developed computer literacy
First Aid qualification
NSW Working with Children Check
Travel to events and competitions within Australia
Work hours may vary from time to time to accommodate business needs, including attending weekend events
