Job Description : The RoleWorking for a Global Manufacturer within their UK business based in Guildford reporting to the UK General Manger and the Global CFO.The candidate will be responsible for the UK operations Finance function managing a small team with interface to the businesses HQ Finance operation.The role will cover all aspects of the local finance function covering and overseeing banking and cash movements , credit control review , payments , FX strategy, VAT, Audits, Taxation, Royalty payments , cost controls , fixed assets management , and preparation of balance sheet and P and L accounts and reports for both the local entity and as part of ongoing group reporting .Special emphasis will be on the FP and A aspect where the candidate will prepare reports and carry out ongoing analysis to improve business performance and make recommendations to the UK GM with the goals of enhancing business unit performance leading to P and L improvements. This will involve in depth analysis of selling and cost prices, margins , terms , marketing investments , overhead management to enable tactical decisions to be made in line with the business strategy .The CandidateFully qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).Strong teamwork skills and management experience.Be able to maintain accurate and robust costing and budgeting models for the existing businessCapable of presenting and communicating budgets and monitoring actual performance against budgets and recommend actions to the senior management team where required.Be able to create costing models. Carry out variance analysis. Look at customer and product profitability models.Be a business partner to the non-finance members of the team including Sales and Marketing.Develop reporting KPIsParticipate in the review and development of current systems and processes to ensure efficient and improvement in the business performance via improved data collection.Must have excellent IT abilities and be able to handle complex data and manipulate and mange to ensure accurate and robust information is reported.Be able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced, team environment performing day to day accounting tasks consisting of internal and external team members .Proven track record in a similar role.Demonstrate a hands-on experience performing and overseeing day to day accounting activities and functions.Strong overall understanding of accounting processes and systems.Knowledge of FRS102 /full EU endorsed IFRS. ( please check as not sure if this is correct )Experienced leader of a finance function with excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
