Job Description : Engineering Director – API Platform
Our Global Technology Infrastructure group is a team of innovators who love technology as much as you do. As a senior software engineer, you have a track record of hands-on leadership, setting standards for technical excellence, continual agile improvement, big systems thinking and setting direction for architecture.
You will bring that now to the firm’s API Platform, which supports the firm-wide adoption of contract based APIs, including automated provisioning to gateways and inventory via CI/CD pipelines, services for external-facing API portals, seamless on-boarding to APIs for external users, and developer tooling ( Maven, IntelliJ plugins ) to make it easier for developers across the firm to build good quality APIs.
As an API subject matter expert ( now, or develop into that on the job), you will also be a key part of firm-wide API standards and architecture, working with architects and product leads across multiple lines of business, with opportunities to engage the wider development community via internal conferences and demos, and understand industry leading practice and vendors / open source projects.
Key technologies used in the teams are Java, Spring Boot, NodeJS, Intellij & Maven Plugin frameworks, OAuth and OIDC, OpenAPI (Swagger) specifications, REST and GraphQL standards, TypeScript UIs and cloud based architectures such as Kubernetes
