OpenTable and KAYAK is looking for an innovative and data-driven Learning & Development Specialist to join our Corporate Learning & Development team. You will be responsible for the full-cycle development and facilitation of learning solutions, primarily focusing on professional development. As an instructional designer, your scope will include developing and sustaining eLearnings, facilitated sessions, and support materials. As a facilitator, you excel both in the virtual and physical classroom and are comfortable presenting to mixed global audiences from individual contributors to leaders. You will report directly to the Sr. Manager of Learning and Development.

In this role, you will:
Assess and validate training needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with managers, HR business partners, or key collaborators.
Ensure learning solutions address the root cause and have a measurable impact by applying effective learning methodologies (ex: ADDIE, Kirkpatrick’s).
Effectively communicate your training vision with team members and partner efficiently during the design/development process.
Develop course outlines, objectives, scoping documents, scripts, storyboards, etc. throughout the design/development process.
Craft and develop engaging and thought-provoking eLearnings and facilitator-led sessions aligned to OpenTable & KAYAKs goals, culture, and values.
Can turn a “soft skill” course into something practical and repeatable that learners will know how to apply immediately post-session.
When appropriate, use a blended learning approach incorporating pre-work, in-session application, and post-work experiences.
Facilitate virtual and instructor-led learning solutions.
Build and evaluate learning metrics (participant feedback, surveys, assessments, etc.) to ensure the efficacy of training solutions and make recommendations for improvements when needed.
Ensure the sustainment of current and future training content/programs (onboarding, orientation, etc.).
Coordinate the Corporate training calendar.
Partner on driving engagement and marketing of our LMS and course offerings.
Coordinate and manage vendor relationships.
Perform other related duties as required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong presentation skills, both virtually and in person.
Proficient with authoring tools – Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, and PowToon preferred
Proficient in Google Suite for developing training materials (slide decks, job aids, facilitator guides, etc.).
High attention to detail.
Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
Knowledge of Kirkpatrick’s Four Levels of Learning and how it applies to the evaluation of learning.
Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
Ability to craft and implement effective and innovative learning solutions.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while staying organized and managing time effectively.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, Education, or a related field required.
2-3 years of training, instructional design, or education experience required.
Bonus
Familiarity with Cornerstone OnDemand preferred.
Experience with designing pages in Confluence.
Certifications in instructional design or facilitation (DDI, MindGym, etc.).
Previous experience in a fast-paced start-up, corporate, or tech-focused industry.
