This is a brand new Project Management Accountant role, created because this business is growing fast! It’s initially available as a 6-month contract but there is a likelihood it will be extended and go permanent as there’s a number of projects running.

Day to day the Project Management Accountant role will involve managing the project accounting including allocating transactions, budget analysis and identifying variances for a £40 mil project. We’ll need you to be available to start at short notice and ready to commit to the 6 month duration of the project. You’ll need management accounts experience and be proactive and confident to hit the ground running.

Reporting to the Senior Project Accountant, you will be responsible for:

Revenue accounting – raising monthly project invoices and reconciling to the Intacct cost ledger
Business partnering with stakeholders
Review P&L and balance sheet to ensure WIP is accurate and on time
Attending weekly project meetings with the project team and training the team on financial issues
Preparing monthly revenue and cost accruals and analysis for the Head of Finance
Preparing monthly updated detailed profit and cash forecast for the project
Assisting the Head of Finance in the preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and cash forecasts
Assisting the Head of Finance in monthly reconciliation of project related general ledger and vendor accounts

What you will need:

Previous project experience – internal projects or external projects
Can be qualified (ACCA/CIMA), studying or qualified by experience
Experience of working in a deadline driven role
Management accounts experience
Experience of WIP management, contract review or working in a contract based environment
Knowledge of IFRS
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and experience in the use of accounting systems
Excellent analytical skills and a keen eye for detail
Confident communicator and ability to interact with non-finance personnel at all levels
Ability to prioritise workload and work independently or as part of a team
