Key responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager for Operational Finance, you’ll support the banking financial processes and controls for B&Q. You’ll be responsible for implementing and embedding change projects and process improvement, both onshore and offshore with our GBS colleagues, ensuring our agreed SLA and KPI’s are maintained or improved.
Key responsibilities;
Manage any escalations efficiently and effectively, to help manage business, banking vendor and customer refund queries
Liaise with the GBS team in Poland, to ensure any issues and actions are quickly resolved ensuring minimal business disruption
Review existing procedures to ensure efficiency and maximise control
Lead finance role and subject matter expert in various business projects (such as banking reviews; new tender types), providing updates directly to the FD as necessary
Embed change effectively across relevant B&Q financial processes, engaging the GBS teams when necessary and with adequate testing and monitoring
Support group wide finance project initiatives, providing updates through to senior teams and engaging the wider business as necessary
Develop good relationships with key stakeholders across the business
Required skills & experience
Track record of implementing process improvement and change
Proven track record of building successful stakeholder relationships
Experience of core accounting activities such as accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
Highly organised and methodical
Good analytical/problem solving skills within context of financial /procedural controls.
Effective communication / inter-personal skills – verbal and written
A strong team player with drive and self-motivation
Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA or QBE)
Experience of SAP ERP (not essential)
