Job Description : Responsibilities
Hands on technical product architecture, design, and review
Develop prototypes to validate a solution and create high-performance robust production applications
Provide technical leadership to a development team of 6 to 8 members.
Collaborate with Architecture, Product Managers, Delivery Managers, and Peer Product Teams effectively.
Assist and manage the product implementations.
Technical debt and operational maturity management
Engineering practices to drive consistent delivery
Essential Role Requirements
The candidates must possess the following:
Extensive experience designing and developing systems for scale, performance, highly secure, and highly available systems
Drive accountability across other team members to execute on time, drive consistency with the team, and ensure disciplined execution of desired outcomes
Strong analytical skills. Demonstrated expertise in problem-solving and technical innovation.
Set the technical standards and patterns for the team to follow
Serve as a servant leader allowing team members to contribute ideas, while providing the guiding architectural decisions of the team
Lead technical discussions from concept through design completion with the team, customer, vendors, peer teams, and architecture
Must have prior experience in:
Providing technical leadership to full stack: Java, Javascript, and database engineers
Providing technical guidance to test teams focused on manual testing and automated testing methodologies.
Build and release management
Self-driven and must have strong experience in the world of product development
Must demonstrate good judgment and pragmatic approach in delivering software that optimizes technology architecture across business needs and keeping in mind technology constraints
Must not only have designed and developed code, but must have strong skills in unit testing and working with Testing teams
Must have the humility to back out in the face objections or when better options exist.
Qualifications
Bachelors or Master’s Degree (preferably in Computer Science or Information Science)
Overall 9+ years of experience and 2+ years of leading technical teams
Good understanding of cloud computing technologies like AWS, Azure, or GCP
Good understanding of Core Java
Proven experience in developing enterprise solutions using object-oriented design practices.
Proven experience with Spring Java and design patterns, including micro-services
Strong design and development skills with database technologies, Postgres in particular
Good development experience in using Web technologies including HTML5, CSS, jQuery and JavaScript front-end frameworks like Angular or React
Proven experience with Node.js and Express.js for backend services
Designing and using micro-sites for exposing features or other products within the ecosystem
Desirable – expertise in healthcare platforms
Must know principles and techniques involved to ensure non-functional requirements such as performance and security are factored during design and development
Experience building build & deploy CI/CD pipelines using GITHUB, Jenkins, or Concourse including security scans (like Veracode) and code coverage tooling (like SonarQube)
Experience in Agile (Scrum) project methodologies.
Must be willing to wear multiple hats both in development and testing to ensure the right products are being built
Must have experience in doing code reviews, writing unit test cases with Junit and Jest, and working closely with all stakeholders involved in product engineering
Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate complicated designs effectively
