Why do we need this role?
This role will sit within the global Data and Analytics team (DNA) in Simply Business. DNA has been central to empowering data-driven decision making at SB. We have invested heavily in our data pipeline, data engineering and our business intelligence capabilities.
As the Head of Product Analytics, you will manage and grow a product intelligence team that is responsible for analyzing the performance of our data-driven algorithms and the way they impact our products and ultimately shapes the customer experience. You will be responsible for qualifying the questions and the use cases that are posed to different DNA teams (Product Intelligence, Data Science, Data Engineering) from Product teams, identify the capabilities (A/B testing, statistical analysis, machine learning, experimentation, data engineering) required to address those questions and work with the allied team in DNA to deliver the right solutions to the Product team.
To make this role a success, you will be required to build strong relationships with different stakeholders both within DNA and on the Product side (heads of products, product managers and Cx teams). Together with them you will identify, prioritize and execute the analytical work that will have the biggest impact on the success of our digital products.
We are looking for someone with a strong technical background that loves the challenge of managing complex projects in a fast-paced environment while leading a team of talented product intelligence analysts.
As the Head of Product Analytics, you will:
Partner with the stakeholders to take product features and translate them into the right problem for DNA to build, test and productionize Design sound experiments, analyze and interpret the results in concert with Product Managers, and document your findings for posterity
Empower team to study the impact of new product features of customer behaviour in order to bring data-driven insights into every decision
Define, evaluate, and monitor key metrics, understanding the root causes of changes, and proactively surface insights to Product leadership
Collaborate with Product Managers to prioritize and roadmap efforts by contributing to cost/benefit analyses
Help product teams identify opportunities where machine learning can be used to boost product features
As a senior member of the DNA management team, contribute to longer term strategic DNA projects and influence the build of scalable tooling such as as experimentation platforms
What are we looking for:
10+ years’ experience in Product Analytics, or Data Science in SaaS or eCommerce with at least 5+ years of experience as a people manager
Proven experience in hiring, coaching, and leading diverse, high-performing teams
Proven ability at translating product vision, strategy and roadmap into the right analytical use cases
Fast learner who has the will and ability to grasp new and complex analytic techniques and principles in order to keep product teams up to date
Fluent communicator who has the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Deep understanding of online testing methodologies, data analysis, statistics, and standard data science toolkit
Proven record of successful metric-driven product impact in collaboration with an engineering team
Proven experience in adopting and embedding Machine Learning capabilities in digital product development
Ability to negotiate, inspire and support diverse sets of stakeholdersKnowledge of the insurance domain will be an added bonus
