Job Description : The Mobile and Modern Productivity Experiences (MMPX) – Phone team is looking for a highly motivated and innovative Sr. Software Engineer to break new ground as we take our products to orders of magnitude higher scale and rock-solid reliability, build out the intelligence capabilities to dramatically deepen user engagement and create a great cross-device experience. The “MMPX Phone” team at Microsoft is responsible for the YourPhone experiences (i.e. the app installed by default on Windows), the YourPhone services fabric, and Link-to-Windows Android experiences shipped on all Samsung phones, and a number of other exciting incubations and market expansions.
Our mission it to help our customers achieve more by breaking the productivity limiting boundaries between devices (via cross-device features) and create seamless continuity between the Mobile and PCs. Together with our partners, we are building engaging & differentiated cross device experiences across Windows PCs & Mobile Devices, strengthened by our best of breed expression of Mobile-first experiences on both 1st party & 3rd party hardware.

This position will be responsible for areas related to device pairing and cross device communication including protocol design and implementation, security and authentication and integration with cloud services and Android OS.

Responsibilities
Are you passionate about cloud computing and building services from the ground up using cutting edge technologies? If so, we have your next position! The team is focused on driving Your Phone platform architecture for our customer demands. As a member of our team, you will participate in all stages of our engineering lifecycle – from initial research and discovery, quick iteration on promising concepts, solution prototyping and development, all the way through successful production support. Developers in the team can wear multiple hats and demonstrate breadth, depth, and leadership.
Design and develop large scale distributed software services and solutions.
Adhere to and drive modern software engineering practices through design and code reviews.
System design through well-defined interfaces across multiple components, code reviews, leveraging data/telemetry to make decisions.
Discover security flaws in design, and help prevent them from being deployed or implemented
Develop “best-in-class” engineering for our services by ensuring that the services and the components are well-defined and modularized, secure, reliable, diagnosable, actively monitored and reusable.
Improve test coverage for services, organize and implement integration tests, and resolve problem areas.
Consider testability, portability/monitoring, reliability, and maintainability, and understand when code is ready to be shared and delivered.
Gain a working understanding of Microsoft as a business and collaborate with mentors and leaders in order to contribute to cohesive, end-to-end experiences for our users.
Focus on customer/partner needs through a data driven approach.
Qualifications
Qualifications
You have at least 6+ years of coding and debugging skills in C#, C++ or Java
2+ years of experience building applications and services in the Cloud.
Demonstrated experience with application security assessment
Ability to communicate technical details clearly across organizational boundaries.
Experience in DevOps to maintain live services andor application frameworks.
Cloud and services experience, with Azure cloud experience highly desirable.
Excellent analytical skills with systematic and structured approach to software design.
Passion for building highly scalable, highly reliable services.
Experience with or exposure to Agile and iterative development processes.
Experience/background in the Cloud Security.
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure stack is helpful.
