The Role

The Software Engineer will be joining a team with various levels of skills. While the main technical language is .NET, knowledge of various versions (3.5, 4.x) is necessary. This role requires a strong technical leader and strategists to lead the way on new projects and improve current ones. The ideal candidate will be to learn fast and be able to contribute to all areas of the team. They will be expected to drive innovation, provide proof of concepts for new solutions, and set high standards for coding and success. The engineer will be a key player in engineering activities and SCRUM ceremonies. Helping others improve is as much a focus as helping yourself so that the team can strive for more. This role requires strong critical problem-solving skills, an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication as you deliver efficient, well designed, and tested software for a positive user experience.
What You’ll Do
Ability to design, lead and implement complex engineering tasks
Facilitate the decomposition of business requirements into use cases and acceptance criteria.
Ability to read third party specification documents and translate it into workable deliverables by the team
Participates on broad scope planning for company project roadmap creation
Maintain a holistic view of projects and keeping an eye on the small details
Ability to work on multiple challenging projects simultaneously
Troubleshoot and solve complex problems quickly and efficiently
Provide unit, integration, and automation tests
Establish coding standards and best practices, execute code reviews while using them as opportunities to teach but not hold back a project.
Stay current on technologies and industry standards while contributing to software design
Take the lead on challenging software engineering projects
Participate in SCRUM related events such as Sprint Planning, Retrospectives and Backlog Grooming as well as to act as a SCRUM Master when necessary
Ability to work without a supervisor as well as provide supervision for other engineers
Coordinate risk analysis on items completed by the team and drive risk-based regression testing for deliverables
Participate in software deployments
Available for on-call support rotations
Available for mentoring and training other software engineers
Communicates and serves as a go-between with the external teams and stakeholders
Maintain a positive attitude and work to influence others on the team to achieve their best.
What You’ll Bring
Education
BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent/proven professional experience
Experience
6+ Years Software Engineering
2+ Years managing/coaching individuals
Mentoring and coaching engineers
Track record in successfully deploying quality solutions
Experience working on an Agile Scrum Team
Experience with Atlassian tools
Skills & Expertise (Required)
Proficient in C# .NET, VB.NET
Proficient in ASP.NET Web Forms, MVC and Web API
Experience with Web Services and serialization, XML, JSON, SOAP, WCF, REST
Experience with Unit testing using mock objects
Experience with Design patterns and object-oriented programing
Experience with SQL Server and the SQL language
Experience with JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap
Experience with .NET Core (2.x, 3.x or 5)
Experience with Agile Management Tools (i.e. Confluence, JIRA, VersionOne)
Familiar with React or Angular JS
Familiar with HTML5 and CSS3
Familiar with Memory management, performance tuning and profiling
Skills & Expertise (Preferred)
Experience using Jenkins and Gitlab for CI/CD pipelines
Experience using Kubernetes and Dockers a bonus
