Job Description:
Job Title: Linux Admin- L3
Minimum Qualification – Graduate
1
Administer, maintain and support Linux (RHEL/Suse/Ubuntu/CentOS) operating systems and exposure to any 2 of the UNIX flavours (HP-UX, Solaris & AIX).
2. Resolve major incidents and technical escalations within agreed SLAs and quality.
3. Problem Management: Perform root cause analysis for problems and major incidents, provide workarounds to ensure business continuity and prepare RCA reports.
4. Change Management: Prepare Implementation plan, rollback plan and test plan, risk and impact analysis for critical or complex changes. Review the change plan and documentation prepared by level 2 engineers or peers.
5. Participate in CAB meetings as needed and assist change manager in techno-operations decision process
6. Install hardware and software, maintain appropriate service levels, performance tuning and firmware upgrades across multiple hardware platforms.
7. Perform advance tasks such as, capacity planning, performance monitoring, provide recommendations for improvement and implement or oversee implementation of the recommendations.
8. Perform system software upgrades including planning / scheduling, testing, coordination, and maintaining integrity of operating system environment.
9. Harden operating system parameters in line with client / Dimension Data security policy, standards or best practices.
10. Respond to outages both during normal business hours and after-hours on a need basis (on-call support).
11. Documentation, knowledge sharing and training of junior members.
12. Coordinating and interfacing with outside vendors, end users, other department team members, and service providers to resolve issues.
13. Analyse data, oversee and contribute to service improvements.
14. Oversee tasks executed by junior members and stand in for them if needed. Responsibilities:

ITIL Foundation Training,
2. ITIL and Microsoft Centification is added advantage
3. Knowledge of Clound (Azure, AWS, Google etc.)
4. Programming and coding (Scripting) – To provide automation of repetitive task
5. RHCE AWS, Azure or goolge certification
Should have excelled written and verbal communication.
* Should have experience as team lead of 5+ resources.
* Server administration – High level of technical knowledge regarding Linux server setup, deployment, and maintenance
* Information security – Understand best practices and techniques to maintain and enhance information security
* Analytical skills – This is a highly analytical role, requiring OS administrators to interpret error logs, monitor system performance data, and assess user information to ensure server reliability
* Communication skills – Need to frequently work with both IT professionals and end users, OS administrators so effective written and verbal communication skills is required
* Problem-solving – Linux administrators often need to employ creative and technical problem-solving techniques while installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux systems and servers
