Wholesale and Market Risk (WMR) is the central point for matters relating to traded credit and market risk within the Group. This includes the design, development and implementation of traded credit and market risk policy and systems, generating reports & analysis on various Credit & Traded Risk metrics the enable the senior leadership & regulators to gauge the risk in a timely & accurate manner in order to take any necessary steps, if required.
Australia regional portfolio / regulatory reporting team helps in compilation of regional portfolio data required to facilitate a cross balance sheet trends, prepare regulatory returns for submission to regulators and analysis of ad hoc issues as they arise.
The Opportunity:
The Senior Analyst – Reporting and Analysis will be responsible for supporting Australia in-country team in developing and producing MIs and assist in monitoring exposures for regulatory and group compliance.
The role will assist the country WMR risk teams in the gathering, validation and analysis of key data throughout its reporting cycle.
What you’ll do:
Capable of independently working on management information collation and produce quality MIs within the bounds of existing system constraints and newly developed systems.
He/ she is also required to be aware of the developments of the Basel requirements and the implications on management information reporting.
Co-ordinate cross-functional teams and resolve issues.
He/ She should be able to prepare concise and comprehensive meeting minutes for distribution to senior stakeholders.
Ability to work to a high degree of accuracy under pressure is important, as during the reporting periods he / she is required to meet tight deadlines.
Ensure seamless delivery on all the BAU activities within timelines and maintain high quality standards.
Be a team player in supporting any other ad hoc activities, wherever applicable.
Ability to prioritize and plan work in an efficient manner.
Quickly escalate to onshore points of contact where there are questions or concerns with a process.
Requirements
What you will need to succeed in the role:
University degree and/or post graduate qualification with a relevant quantitative content.
Previous relevant experience in risk management
Experience working with MI visualization tools such as Tableau / Qlikview preferred.
Advanced MS Excel proficiency
Good written and verbal communication skills in English
Good interpersonal skills with positive attitude
Be change oriented and able to cope with pressure and tight deadlines
Knowledge of Python preferred.
What additional skills will be good to have?
Experience in either corporate banking or wholesale risk management
Experience in either portfolio management, in multiple countries or in multiple corporate sectors
Enthusiastic, displaying energy, drive and staminas
Willing to work with colleagues in other areas/timezones where appropriate
Open personality and effective communication skills, ability and flexibility to work in an international team
