Job Description : About this role:
This role is for an Engineer Manager with solid experiences in big data, public and private cloud related technologies to strategize and execute a variety of projects, programs, and initiatives that are significant in scope, and complexity. A successful candidate for this role will have a service-oriented mentality and possess a strong sense of ownership of the problems/requests assigned. The role will focus on evaluating technology solutions; building up and enhancing the platform; and offering solutions and to our business users. This leader will be responsible for proactively identifying potential risks when implementing change, along with developing mitigation strategies and plans. The Manager drives the integration and implementation of projects and initiatives by leveraging relationships with technology partners, managing and prioritizing competing projects, and adjusting as necessary. Ensures the team has developed metrics, and tracks/evaluates performance of programs, services, and initiatives. Ensures the teams adhere to appropriate policies and procedures. Manages a team to accomplish the work.

In this role, you will:
Lead cloud development team working on Pubic and Hybrid cloud
The new leader will focus on closely working with application teams in understanding their requirements, review application design, and provide best practices/ infrastructure solution as well as application integration with Cloud solutions.
Provides and reviews application performance tuning, and capacity planning as well as storage management. Ensuring application teams leveraging the right tool set and using them effectively.
Consistently seek opportunities increase overall efficiency of the operation by automation & innovation.
Responsible for POCs including enablement of brand new tool or services into the lake.
Manage large scale projects, issues, risks, and dependencies
Support existing application teams with monthly new releases, issue resolution all the way, until they go to production.
Application Migrations from legacy clusters to brand to clusters.
Provide management reporting on program status, performance, issue resolution, and achievements
Develop and maintain a high performing team through active performance management, talent management, coaching, recruiting, and hiring
Foster a collaborative, risk-minded, success-oriented, empowered, and accountable team environment
Manage appropriate internal and external third party consulting resources and service providers
Coordinate recurring monthly and quarterly meetings with each work stream lead to ensure that the delivery is on track and issues are brought to light at the right time.
Coordinate and participate in data transformation initiatives to drive efficient and strategically aligned decisions
Implement agile and other rapid application development methods.
Qualifications:
As a technology manager within the Data Technology team, candidate should have in-depth experience developing and implementing large scale data programs for several years. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge and experience in building and functioning of enterprise Data Lake, data platforms, data acquisition and transformation technologies, metadata management, data protection and controls as well as business intelligence tools.
Bachelor degree or equivalent with 15+ years of experience developing enterprise software solutions, preferably in the banking space along with 6+ year of experience in managing and leading people.
Working knowledge of developing cloud native applications and deployment architecture
Experience with Private and public cloud technologies (Google cloud/AWS/Azure)
Strong experience in Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, BigQuery, Apache Airflow, Spark, Kafka,
Solid experience in a combination of Java, Scala, Python, and Unix Shell Script
Understanding of Cloud security, application migration and deployment
Solid experience in NoSQL databases
Experience building end to end CI/CD Solutions for automating software or infrastructure. Exposure to Configuration management (Puppet or Ansible) will be a plus.
Advantage of having knowledge with JOB schedulers like Airflow and Autosys.
Proven track record of strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills, abilities to articulate technical solutions to both technical and business audiences
Excellent planning, project management, leadership and time management skills
Abilities to work independently
Exposure to banking domain is a plus
