Job Description : We are seeking an experienced 2nd Line Support Engineer to work within our digital support team and help us drive our business forward whilst maintaining our already strong processes, technical foundations and client relationships.About the RoleThis role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic experienced hosting support engineer to progress their career goals by being a key player within this diverse and entrepreneurial team.You will be one of our 2nd Line Customer Support Engineers working in our Service Desk Team based remotely or within commutable distance of our Bangalore office. Your key responsibility will be to provide first class technical support through a wide range of service desk ticket customer enquiries (Zendesk) and working with developers and DevOps support departments. You will be expected to have high service standards and provide a ‘yes we can’ approach at all times.This isn’t a traditional 2nd Line Support role – but we hope that’s a good thing; duties are diverse and include, but are not limited to:Helping to manage a busy interactive service desk alongside the wider support team.Ensuring all tickets are logged into the service desk system and progress notes are added to all tickets.Managing the timely resolution of open actions across customer tickets.Receiving escalated tickets from 1st line teams and applying technical expertise to resolve or to delegate to other company departments.Ownership of 2nd line issues varying in subjects; from resolution of bugs & issues, development of indivudual website modules and all the way through to assistance with longer term maintenance, rollout & re-skin tasks.Providing support to other department’s website & app development and deployment projects.Advising junior support staff and providing direction on 1st line tickets, helping them to develop and expand their capabilities to cover a wider range of topics.Support our Service Desk Lead in improving the service desk processes and offering, inputting ideas into best practice needs based on your experience.Involvement in team meetings, team mentoring, adherence to and implementation of key processes.About YouWorking at GlobalizeMe is not your normal 9-5. You will be ready for a flexible working environment and will have the following skills / qualities:3-4 years of hosting / development related Service Desk experience, proven via references and a solid LinkedIn profile.Excellent written and spoken English skills and confident to attend regular internal and client calls, with the ability to communicate effectively and coherently on technical subjects.You will be a versatile self-starter with a proactive mindset and a desire to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion.The following technical skills are required: * Knowledge of CMS platforms including but not limited to WordPress, CraftCMS & Joomla including experience on front-end, back-end and CMS integration. * Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other website development technologies. * Experience with managing and developing e-commerce platforms such as Shopify & Magento. * Familiarization of core network technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP etc.)Understanding of the following areas will be an advantage: * IT skills gained from working within a similar role covering cloud-based hosting technologies. * Knowledge of supporting Linux, on AWS or Azure or a similar cloud platform. * Understanding of hosting management environments such as WHM and CPanel.And equally important are the following: * You’ll have a sense of humour and will be ready to meet challenges and clients with a smile. * You’ll be keen to speak up in the company’s various open forums, contributing to discussion and offering assistance to internal teams. * You’ll be proactive by nature, with abilities to identify and resolve issues before they are raised by stakeholders.
