Job Description : About the opportunity
Department Description
The Enterprise Team is responsible for providing data and reporting services to various departments across Fidelity. These services include development of new reporting applications and implementation/enhancement of data platforms along with providing production services.
Purpose of your role
This is a challenging opportunity for senior data professionals who understand and solves complex functional, technical and architectural issues around data integrations and has the ability to understand the implication of the chosen technical strategy and ensure alignment with business context. The candidate will be expected to interact with all levels of the business and technical community, seeking approval from all stakeholders of the projects.
The candidate should have good experience in ETL architecture and design as well as in data modelling, while demonstrating a keenness to master, suggest and work with different technologies & toolsets.
The candidate is also expected to be hands-on on coding, so as to be an effective reviewer as well as to develop complex scenarios. The role would also involve intensive interaction with the business and other systems groups, so good communication skulls and the ability to work under pressure are absolute must.
Key Responsibilities
Work with the business analysts and enterprise architects to devise and propose the technical solution to business problems or new opportunities;
Prepare system and technical high-level design documents
Produce Technical specifications, unit test cases for the reports under development
For assigned projects, ensure that all project technical artefacts are constructed, compiled, packaged and documented in accordance with FIL Technology development methodology, technical delivery method and quality gates
Support and mentor analyst programmers in all technical deliveries, review their code and provide technical guidance
Build trusted relationships with business partners and proactively seek feedback on systems processes and personal performance
Analyse technical issues, flag risks and provide solution approach to such issues.
Ensure code is maintained in version control system and participate in code deployments with the Deployment team
Give inputs to prepare the Implementation plan for deployment into production, provide necessary production support during initial phases after go-live.
Experience and Qualifications
B.E./B.Tech. or M.C.A. in Computer Science from a reputed University
7-10 years of relevant industry experience
Essential Skills
Strong experience in SQL, PL/SQL, Informatica Powercenter, Unix shell scripting, Oracle 12c database optimization and scheduling tools along with performance improvement techniques across ETL technology stack with hands-on abilities – 6+ years
Good with data modelling skills; entity relationship as well as dimensional, designing various layers of Datawarehouse, etc… – 2+ years
Data analysis, source system analysis and data mapping to target data model – 4 to 6 years
Extensive knowledge in data integration architecture/ETL/Data warehouse, esp large volumes with complex integrations – 6+ years
Good knowledge of reporting tools such as OBIEE, Tableau with understanding of different types of reporting, storytelling using visualization, etc…
Good knowledge of emerging alternate tools/technologies like Python, Spring Integration, Big Data technologies, etc…
Good Knowledge in Architectural and Design patterns
Knowledge in cloud Datawarehouse solutions such as Snowflake.
Overseeing and reviewing the application design & development to ensure that it meets both the technical constraints of the architecture and the business objectives in terms of reliability, scalability, and serviceability
Ability to identify and define non-functional requirements and design systems to meet the same
Knowledge of application architecture to ensure performance and scalability, including the identification and alleviation of bottlenecks.
Excellent verbal, written communication, and problem-solving skills
Desirable Skills
Experience in preparing Technical Documentation (Pseudo Code, Process Flow, Data Model, Class Diagram)
Integration with cloud systems like Workday, Salesforce and Marketo
Knowledge on cloud technologies like AWS.
Exposure to Data quality, complex transformation such as B2B, metadata management, etc…
Exposure and sound understanding of financial services domain – Mutual Funds and Fund accounting
Self-starter with ability to take ownership of end-to-end implementations
Candidate must be willing to travel overseas at short notice for the duration necessitated by project needs.
