Job Description : Summary:The Accountant Manager will be responsible for the accounting, reporting, planning & forecasting and ad hoc analysis for the Engineering, Facilities,and other departments as assigned. Reporting and analysis will provide management with timely, accurate and relevant financial information andinsights. This position is also responsible for accounting, reporting, planning & forecasting and ad hoc analysis for Capital Expenditures including theFixed Asset monthly close activities.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:1. Accounting Close and Reportinga. Prepare monthly accruals by department and review with managersb. Prepare prepaid, accrual and other account reconciliationsc. Prepare, communicate and present financial results including general account analysis, reconciliation, variance explanation,Key Performance Indicators with explanation of business driversd. Interact with external and internal auditors, prepare and provide documents for annual audit and SOX reviewse. Ensure effective communication between accounting and all internal/external customers2. Planning and Forecastinga. Prepare annual budget and quarterly forecasts for the Engineering, Facilities and Quality departmentsb. Document and understand assumptions, risks and opportunitiesc. Prepare documentation, including presentations, trend and variance analysisd. Review headcount requisitions for alignment with budget and business justificationse. Timely review purchase requisitions to ensure accuracy of coding and consistency with budgetf. Provide insight on cost savings activities and initiate cost reductions initiatives3. Capital planning for the company and the accounting for Fixed Assetsa. Enter in new assets, disposals and adjustments into Fixed Asset systemb. Record month-end fixed asset related entriesc. Prepare fixed asset inventory reconciliationd. Ensure proper documentation and support is maintainede. Prepare analysis of actual versus budgeted spending4. Review contracts to confirm coding, budgeted amounts and whether amounts are reasonable. Provide insight on cost savings activities and projectlead cost reductions5. Other ad hoc analysis / projects as deemed appropriateInteraction:The incumbent works closely with entire accounting/finance team, operations, customers, vendors and consultants.Education and Experience:5 years of relevant Accounting/Finance experienceBS degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experienceKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:1. Knowledge of and experience in general accounting principles and preparing and implementing accounting policies, systems and procedures.2. General knowledge of GAAP and an understanding of internal accounting controls.3. Demonstrated analytical abilities and effective oral and written communication skills.4. Experience working in a fast paced environment with multi-project and multi-product manufacturing industry.5.
