With almost 30 years in the spices & seasoning industry, we are flavor experts!We are looking for an Assistant Financial Controller who is looking to grow into a Controller role in the next 12-18 months, under the guidance of our current Controller and our CEO.We have decades of experience, but growth in the past 5 years gives us a new company energy. Employees who bring skill, dedication, and hard work to the team have opportunities for self-determined professional development and growth.Job Summary: The Assistant Financial Controller is a blended role operating in both Corporate Finance and Accounting. This role will manage the day-to-day financial operations of the company, in addition to directing cash flow management, and developing financial projections used to guide the growth of the business. The Assistant Financial Controller will recommend, lead, and implement change within the finance domain including process improvement, re-organization, new tools and technology systems in coordination with the Controller and the CEO.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide financial guidance and control and work in coordination with the Controller.Participate in core business process and strategic decisions as appropriate.Prepare and publish corporate-wide financial statements including Income Statements, Balance Sheets and Cash Flow Statements.Prepare and/or review financial trending analysis.Perform analytical functions as needed.Maintain strategic projects; plan, monitor and ensure projects are tracking to expectations while communicating with budget owners.Assist with Board reporting and review.Prepare ad hoc reports for internal customers.Timely preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations.Posting of weekly payroll entries and related reconciliations.Support of annual external audits and internal audits.Monitor cash flow and create key performance indicators and metrics, recommend actions for improvement.Coordinate and present annual budget and quarterly forecasts to Leadership Team.Communicate regularly with banking contacts, accountant as well as corporate attorney as needed.Other accounting and finance functions as assigned.Other essential FunctionsUpholds the values and mission of All Seasonings IngredientsFollows all policies and procedures set by All Seasonings IngredientsPerform other duties as requested by supervisor. The Employer retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position.Supervisory ResponsibilityThe Assistant Financial Controller directly supervises the AP/AR Specialist.Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesHighly skilled in Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to report, convey and communicate complex financial decisions an analysis.Experience with Sage 100 preferred.Expert knowledge of GAAP; ability to recommend and implement best practices while adapting to rule changes.Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to multi-task, set priorities and delegate.Ability to create and explain financial results for Leadership team and identify reasons for variances as well as corrective actions; seek out and provide advance warnings of risks and opportunities.Education and TrainingBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Statistics or related field.5+ years of experience in an accounting or finance preferred.Equivalent combinations of education and work experience will be considered.Physical Requirements and Working ConditionsWhile performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is subject to the following requirements:The employee is often required to sit, and use their hands and fingers to handle, feel, or type.
