Job Description : Required Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited 4‐year college or university, with major course work in accounting, finance, economics, or business administration, including or supplemented by 24 semester hours of accounting OR Two years of experience in examining internal work processes, financial and operational records, and controlsMust be detail-oriented, analytical, and organizedAbility to examine and reconcile documents submitted by taxpayers during an audit, ability to research and think out of the box, and ability to create written documents.Must have a valid driver’s licenseSummaryInsight Global is seeking an entry-level field auditor for a Government client’s audit services group. This individual will work in the Vehicle/Motor fuel tax audit team. The primary duties and responsibilities involve conducting field and office audits of various sized motor carriers to determine compliance with the International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) and International Registration Plan (IRP). The auditor is responsible for thoroughly analyzing the assignment, scheduling audits with taxpayers, traveling to the taxpayer’s location, examining, and analyzing taxpayer’s records, preparing detailed written reports citing specifics of noncompliance, and referencing related statutes and case law.Responsibilities:Pre- Audit Research, Audit PreparationAnalyze new assignmentsContact the licensee/registrant, determine office or field, establish audit periods for IFTA and IRP and identify how the records will be made available for review, confirm all arrangements, conversations, and requests in writing.Travel to the location of the licensee/registrant or representative when direct contact is available or requested.Development of Audit ReportsFrequently communicate with the licensee/registrant to gain accurate answers and a thorough understanding of the reporting methods, record keeping, business history, type of business, and units in the fleet.Prepare and present a written list of questions and information requests.Educate the licensee/registrant about IFTA and IRP requirements.Determine adequacy of record keeping.Review of electronic files will be completed for submission to other IFTA/IRP jurisdictions.Continued Education – Pursue training and development opportunities related to the job.Attend and participate inside and outside training and workshops for continued education in tax law and auditing techniques and procedures.Job Type: Full-timePay: From $20.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountVision insurancePhysical Setting:OfficeSchedule:Monday to FridayAbility to commute/relocate:Topeka, KS: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Education:Bachelor’s (Required)Work Location: One location
