We are seeking a seasoned professional Automotive Controller with audit and management accounting experience, preferably related to automotive dealerships to lead our accounting, business management and administrative functions in the Seattle area. The ideal candidate will play a key role in manufacturer statement preparation, titling and registration, courtesy vehicle program oversight, manufacturer incentive programs, treasury support and many other areas of dealership accounting. The ideal candidate will partner with a diverse group of stakeholders to develop and implement processes to centralize dealer accounting functions. The candidate will lead and collaborate with key executives, store General Managers, and other stakeholders in implementation of new process and technologies across the family of dealerships.
Responsibilities:
Lead in the preparation of selected manufacturer financials statements, and assist the broader accounting organization with the preparation of consolidated financial statements
Manage titling and registration of new acquired vehicle
Lead in the recognition of Revenue and Cost of Sales, and in coordination with General Accounting Group prepare Dealer Financial Statement(s)
Oversee Courtesy Vehicle Program (loaner fleet) and manufacturer incentive programs
Prepare monthly/quarterly balance sheet reconciliation schedules and operational reports
Assist our team in developing and implementing financial discipline, expense control and optimization
Work with executive management to track, report and collect manufacturer programs and performance incentives
Assist with financing audits, development and audit reconciliation of inventory and sales
Maximize cash-flow by assisting with line-of-credit management
Assist with process development/modification and technology deployment to improve overall efficiency
Document current processes, define operational gaps and recommend standardized processes
Assist with ad-hoc projects, additional duties as directed
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Accounting with some automotive experience
Self-starter, motivated by results, problem solver, team player
Bachelor’s degree in accounting a must, MBA, CPA and/or Dealer Automotive experience a big plus
Automotive industry GAAP knowledge strongly desired
Ability to understand and interpret financial statements, strong communication skills a must
Proficient in computer software MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
CDK Global experience strongly desired
Comfortable with operating multiple application systems
Demonstrated success building consensus, coaching, and working in team environment
Ability to complete multiple projects on time with varying timelines and priorities
Some domestic travel may be required
