Job Description : If you are an Accounting/Finance professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Brookfield, CT location, you will direct, manage and control the financial analysis, budgeting and planning functions for Branson Americas (US, Canada & Mexico).
You will be responsible for the development, analysis and reporting of all financial information and documents for Branson Americas periodic Actual and Planning activities. You will coordinate the development, analysis and reporting of Orders, Sales and Margins for Branson Americas periodic Actual and Planning activities. You will direct and manage the internal control functions for Americas Operations. You will direct and control all financial transactions to ensure compliance with GAAP and Emerson policies and procedures.
AS THE CONTROLLER, YOU WILL:
Direct the development process, analysis and reporting of monthly financial requirements for Branson Americas including financial statements (balance sheet and P&L), POR’s and management reports. Direct the development, analysis of major factors and formal review documents to present to Senior Management. Direct the preparation of review/analysis details for review with responsible management to ensure accuracy of projections, understanding of variances and recommendations for corrective actions.
Direct the development process, analysis and reporting of monthly Orders and Sales for Americas. Provide analysis of both projected and actual performance to POR for Volume and Profitabilities.
Direct the development process, analysis and presentation of annual Financial Reviews, Profitability Review’s, Presidents’ Councils and Board Meetings for Branson Americas. Work with Americas’ management in establishing financial objectives; development of historical and projected operation performance detail; development of presentation detail with for presentation to Management.
Ensure proper internal control programs are in place to control the company assets for areas of responsibility. Direct the development and continual review of internal control procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness of account analysis, technical policy interpretation and supporting documentation. Direction of periodic audits to verify controls are being followed, problem areas identified and corrective actions implemented. Work with all levels of management to ensure that internal control procedures are in place and being followed within other divisions. Primary direct contact with Emerson and/or outside auditors and Domestic entities on all issues related to accounting activities. Responsible for the domestic financial audit results.
Direct the availability and quality of technical services for all levels of management regarding accounting issues and/or financial analysis including cost reduction programs; capital spending and ROI justification; identification and resolution of performance issues; new products reporting.
Direct the Accounting participating in Americas programs to improve asset management. Work with all levels of management in the identification and implementation of improvement programs; establishing an attainment of company goals. (Inventory turnover, DSO, & DPO).
Lead the development and analysis of annual standard costs. Present standard changes to all appropriate levels of management.
Actively maintain awareness of Emerson CFP’s and GAAP standards to ensure continuing compliance with all applicable standards.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
Minimum 5 years of accounting and management experience in a large manufacturing company
Strong management and interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong technical knowledge
Experience with operations financial analysis in a standard cost environment
Legally authorized to work in the United States

MBA
