Job description
The Controller is a key member of the executive team and a leader in executing the financial strategies and goals of the club. We are looking for a dynamic individual that desires active engagement with the Club?s staff, membership and governance groups. Our environment invites the controller to have innovation, active participation and broad involvement in all areas of the operation. The Controller directs the financial operations of the Club. They supervise the accounting functions and directly assists the General Manager on all strategic matters relating to budget management, cost-benefit analysis, forecasting needs, and internal control. They develop policies to control and coordinate accounting, auditing, budgets, taxes and related activities and records; develops, establishes, and administers procedures and systems pertaining to financial matters. The person in this position prepares financial statements, forecasts and analyses for all administrative and managerial functions. The Controller oversees the Accounting Coordinator and Accounting Clerk to help maintain all accounting records as well as develop, analyze, and interpret statistical and accounting information. They evaluate operating results for costs, revenues, budgets, policies of operation, trends and increased profit possibilities. They serve as the financial liaison to the Finance Committee, attend Leadership Team Meetings, Leadership Retreats, All-Hands Meetings and any other meetings as designated by the General Manager/COO, and supervises the staffing and scheduling of the Accounting Department members.
The Controller supports the Director of Club Engagement with the management the Club?s Information Technology system, especially its point-of-sale system, and troubleshoots hardware and software issues on demand with the assistance of off-site IT personnel when necessary.
Education, Experience, and Requirements:
Bachelor?s degree from four-year college or university; Master?s degree preferred with concentration in business or administration with accounting major or minor and coursework in financial analysis and auditing.
Five to seven years of professional accounting experience with at least two of those years at the Controller level or equivalent in club operation.
Experience supervising a staff/team of accountants and bookkeepers preferred.
Experience overseeing information technology operation preferred.

Display careful judgement and be comfortable managing cross-functioning teams and multi-disciplinary projects with the ability to make complex decisions in a dynamic environment in support of the Club?s Mission, Vision, and Values.
Think, operate, exemplify, and deliver logically, creatively, strategically, and innovatively while meeting objectives and goals both near-term and long-term while displaying executive aptitude in fiduciary, fiscal, administrative, and operational matters and problem solving.
Encourage elevated standards for all facilities, services, and communications while assessing and evaluating the needs of the entire Club Team to meet expectations or satisfaction and exceeding where possible.
Assure that federal, state, and local laws in addition to Club policies and procedures are up to date and in compliance with the necessary and respective agencies.

Competitive Compensation Package includes:
Pay starts at $90,000 – $110,000 per year, but can increase based on experience
Club pays 80% of your medical, dental, and vision insurance after 30 days
Club pays 100% of your life insurance after 30 days
