Job Description : Controller
Our growing Stone and Services company is looking for a Controller to join our team. Controllers should be able to successfully complete their tasks and are responsible for the financial and accounting functions of the company and affiliated entities controlled by ownership. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication and multitasking skills, a positive attitude and a strong work ethic and experience in the construction field.
Controller Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for implementation of new ERP system
Responsible for all day-to-day accounting activities.
Accounts Receivable: Invoice customers and assure accurate and timely recordings of all receipts and transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks for receipt of revenue including cash.
Accounts Payable: Manage the process of departmental purchasing, cash forecasting, and supplier and recurring payments, and payroll preparation and processing.
Maintain the general ledger, perform the monthly close and account reconciliations and journal entries required.
Financial statements and management reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual balance sheet, P&L and financial statements, perform/review monthly/quarterly account reconciliations.
Produce period financial statements and analysis of trends and variances and management reporting for all departments.
Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
Coordinate and liaison with external auditors and CPA for yearend audit and tax planning.
Responsible for compliance of indirect tax.
Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions.
Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
Manages reporting on cashflows, debt balances, financial covenants, working capital, and other periodic internal/external reporting as required.
Maintains treasury relationship with banking partner.
Manages and oversees inventory related issues and workflow.
Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees, following up on work results.
Maintains financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
Maintains and develop financial staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
Collaborates with owner on ad hoc projects and operations workflow.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
BS/BA in Accounting, Finance and / or Economics
MS/MBA is a plus
7-10+ years of prior Accounting / Finance experience
3+ years of prior Leadership and / or Management experience
Proven experience as a Controller, Finance Officer and / or relevant role
Prior construction experience necessary preferably in the granite stone industry
Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting
International experience preferred
Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g., QuickBooks)
Ability to strategize and solve problems
Strong leadership and organizational skills
CPA preferred
Salary: 120k DOE
