The Appraiser I plays a key role in the process of researching and valuing properties. Appraises homes, commercial real estate and other properties with an objective, impartial and unbiased opinion about the value of real property. Provides assistance and recommendations on completed appraisals.
What you’ll do:
Reviews escalated complex and in-depth analysis of property market values; presents analysis, conclusions and recommendations to Chief Appraiser.
Appraises complex and highly valued homes, real estate and other properties using current local real estate market information.
Prepares extensive reports on each property’s value, inspecting properties and preparing legal descriptions and data regarding multiple real estate properties.
Reviews escalated AMC valuations based on criteria (property value and complexity) and prepares Desk Review forms using current local real estate market information. Reviews online real estate websites, researches county records, ensures accurate property data in analyzed.
Remains up to date on current appraisal requirements as outlined by company policy, regulatory requirements and licensing requirements.
Will notify Chief Appraiser of upcoming or new changes to any regulations to initiate and facilitate team training with Appraiser II.
Communicates with the Valuations and Sales team.
Supports development of team.
What you’ll need:
Bachelor’s Degree required.
5-10 years of real estate appraisal experience required. Prior experience with short sales, REOs, title insurance background and understanding preferred.
USPAP and Appraiser Independence Requirements knowledge.
State Certification Residential required.
SRA membership a plus.
Proficient knowledge and use of MS Office.
Ellie Mae/Encompass experience preferred, but not required.
Strong valuation skills
Demonstrated strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
Organized self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Able to project manage and delegate
Demonstrably self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Ability to handle stress and make decisions quickly while under pressure with composure
Strong problem solving and analyzing ability
