Job Description : Overview:
The Office of Human Resources invites applicants for a Programmer/Analyst. In this position you will work within our HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) team with the collection, retrieval, accessibility, and usage of employee information for Human Resource planning and activities. You will also consult with partners and business stakeholders to define data needs and provide solutions.

Responsibilities:
Develop Tableau dashboards and develop metrics and visuals for Human Resources.
Work with the Banner HR module lead in partnering with Human Resources, Payroll, Banner end-users and IT to test, resolve issues, and implement business processes related to Payroll, HR, reporting, security, etc.
Create Oracle SQL queries and reports using IT’s Reporting Warehouse, Banner tables, and all respective inclusive structures.
Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing HRIS processes, and develop strategies for improvement, or further leveraging the system(s) for improved processes.
Document and maintain Banner HRIS procedures, user documentation, system updates, and maintenance, including tax updates.
Act as liaison between IT, end-users, and vendors for development, maintenance, and testing of processes and interfaces related to Human Resources.
Design, test, and assist in implementing systems with university wide application.
Maintain awareness of current trends in HRIS with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and application of key technologies.
Provide guidance, training, and troubleshooting as needed.
Work on special projects and other additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Four years of related experience, OR Bachelor’s degree, OR an equivalent combination of education.
SQL Programming experience with an emphasis on relational database management and report writing
Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
Good planning, organization, and administrative skills
Knowledge of:
applicable data privacy practices and laws
proper documentation practices of procedures and processes
visualization techniques for displaying data
applying basic statistics
database structure; SQL coding and syntax
Skill to:
create a team-based environment
act professionally when encountering customers who, at times, may be frustrated or threatening
be accountable for work done and actions made
define and solve practical problems, and create accurate, validated reporting for business making decisions
prioritize and execute tasks in time-sensitive situations with a keen attention to detail
measure performance of self, make improvements and take appropriate corrective action.
