Job Description : Reference number: RF-5111Closing Date: 2022-03-31About the JobCommunications Security Establishment (CSE) is Canada’s national cryptologic agency. Unique within Canada’s security and intelligence community, we employ code-makers, codebreakers, and secure system creators to provide the Government of Canada with foreign signals intelligence (SIGINT), as well as cyber security services (Canadian Centre for Cyber Security). CSE is the national hub for cyber operations to defend Canada and advance national interests. We provide technical and operational assistance to federal law enforcement and security agencies.We’re looking for passionate people from a diverse range of backgrounds, who will thrive working in an open-minded environment and value the different perspectives of others.Our Unit has three distinct Operational areas that perform independent functions to deliver Communications Security (COMSEC) services to the Government of Canada, International partners, and Canadian Industry. The team member is responsible to:As a member of a COMSEC Service Desk team:Provide first-line support to Government of Canada clients for cryptographic devices, keys and solutions via phone, email, or onsite presence.Provide second line COMSEC related support to clients: diagnosing, analyzing, and correcting problems, providing informal training on applications, equipment, and computer systems.Process client-submitted requests and registrations.Perform asset-and record management of COMSEC products for national oversight.Monitor the health of systems and applications. Review system efficiency and effectiveness, analyze information, identify, and correct problems, or where necessary escalate to 3rd level support technical specialists.Liaise with international partner agencies and cryptonet authorities in resolving multi-lateral COMSEC implementations.As a member of a COMSEC Production team:Provide centralized sovereign cryptographic key material production and electronic distribution services in support of Government of Canada secure communications.Manage and distribute all foreign key material for use within Canada.Manage, administer, and operate mission specific COMSEC equipment and systems to support the movement of cryptographic key to and from national and international clients and partners.Establish and maintain international interoperability with Allied partners.As a member of the COMSEC Account Operations team:Manage all incoming and outgoing shipments of COMSEC equipment on behalf of the Government of Canada.Manage the National COMSEC Equipment Reserve to support immediate operational needs within Canada.Administer and manage the CSE Industrial COMSEC Account in support of contracts established between Canadian Departments and their Industrial partners.Provide equipment destruction services on behalf of Government of Canada clients.All three teams:Review system efficiency and effectiveness, analyze information, identify, and correct problems, or where necessary escalate to 3rd level support technical specialists.Participate in maintenance and upgrade activities of full suite of COMSEC devices authorized for use within Canada.Provide subject matter expertise to project initiatives.Manage user accounts and authorize access to equipment and services.Create, maintain, review, and disseminate instructions, SOPs, and FAQs.NOTE: If selected, you will be placed on the team that best suits your qualifications and interest.
