Job Description : Description: Carroll College, a Catholic liberal arts college located in Helena, Montana is seeking a Director of Campus Computing and Information Technology. Carroll College seeks and experienced and skilled strategist and manager to fill the position. The Director of CCIT will supervise Campus Computing and Information Technology (CCIT) and serve as the College’s Chief Information Officer. CCIT is responsible for all campus technology systems and infrastructure; including academic, administrative and business operations technology, help desk, telecommunications, networking, web-based applications, information security and more. Carroll College utilizes the Ellucian Colleague Enterprise Planning System. The Director of Campus Computing and Information Technology is responsible for leading the College’s effort to efficiently and appropriately collect, store, and share data and information across all functional units creating a model that enables Carroll to use information strategically. In addition, the position acts as a liaison between a wide-array of College audiences and CCIT to design, direct, and implements plans to improve business processes that are collaboratively created by departments and CCIT, and serves as primary support for technology training, development and safe practices across the College.
The position is a full-time, 12-month appointment.

Qualifications: Successful candidates must have a strong background in developing, leading and administering a multi-functioning Office of Information Technology, preferably in a higher education or multi-faceted business environment. The desired position qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or commensurate certifications in the Information Technology field along with proportionate experience required. Five to ten years of progressively responsible experience in information technology and telecommunications systems, preferably in a multi-faceted business environment or higher education environment is preferred.
Other Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities include:
Excellent planning, communication, and project management skills as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills, vendor negotiation skills and leadership abilities.
This person should possess working knowledge of current operating systems, networking, and telecommunication systems.
Experience in higher education IT management, leadership, and supervision; including enterprise scale systems and the migrations and connections between them.
Experience managing capital and operating budgets within an environment of limited available resources.
Experience identifying and managing technology-related risks including those related to information security, privacy, and disaster recovery.
Must be able to interpret and apply regulations, policies and procedures.
Ability and willingness to delegate effectively and to hold direct reports accountable, while being a skilled decision maker with transparency in decision making and management.
Change leadership skills including the ability to strategically plan while being a visionary and “out of the box” thinker.
Ability to build effective relationships across organizational structure to understand issues from multiple perspectives and think synergistically. Ability to collaborate and lead with influence.
Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to adapt messaging based on the audience and stakeholder group(s).
High integrity and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
