Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch Vehicles Business Unit is seeking a Program Planning and Scheduling Manager 3 to join its Program Planning and Scheduling department. The Manager will be responsible for leading a group of 12 program schedulers/program scheduling managers, providing guidance and direction in the preparation and coordination of plans and integrated schedules for new and existing programs. This position reports to the Business Unit Director of Business Management and is located in Chandler, AZ.
Specific roles and responsibilities of the Program Planning and Scheduling Manager include, but are not limited to, the following:

Manage scheduling personnel (schedulers and managers). Mentor Managers and develop professional and management talent within the operating unit.
Provide site schedulers with day to day support, guidance, troubleshooting, and satisfying programmatic requirements
Function as a change agent, creating an environment of trust, compliance, continuous improvement and learning
Support/coordinate internal and external surveillance audits and DCMA surveillance reviews
Support integrated baseline reviews
Attend site business management meetings to define schedule needs and work with Sector Scheduling management on resource allocation needs
Ensure full compliance with corporate policies, with particular focus on implementation of the NG Earned Value Management System
Perform in a fast paced, frequently changing, and demand driven environment
Problem solving and decision making requiring excellent communication skills
Promotes the professional development of the business management workforce, fostering a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around ethics and integrity, employee engagement, affordability, innovation, value growth, and continuous improvement
Maintains the highest level of commitment to quality, compliance and internal controls in adherence to company values and ethics

RELOCATION ASSISTANCE MAY BE AVAILABLE FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of program planning & control job experience OR a Master’s degree with 8+ years of experience
Well-developed people leadership skills and at least 2 years of leadership experience
Hands-on experience in Program Planning / Scheduling utilizing Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software
Demonstration of a strong understanding of project management and earned-value management principles and their application to complex projects.
Experience with Earned Value and program planning/scheduling for various contract types and customers.
Proficiency in MS Office Programs (MS Project, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word).

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a Business Administration or Engineering with 10 years of hands-on experience in Program Planning / Scheduling utilizing Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software
Prior experience in the aerospace and defense industry
Prior experience in applying integrated cost/schedule and critical path methodologies within an Earned Value (EVMS) environment.
Familiarity with Earned Value tools (MPM, Cobra, etc.)
Familiarity with the NDIA’s Planning and Scheduling Excellence Guide.
Current, active Secret clearance.

Salary Range: $122,000 USD – $183,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
