Don’t miss the opportunity to become part of a team that strives for quality and innovation.The Safety Manager will provide safety coverage for multiple project sites in the Boardman and Hermiston area. The Safety Manager will oversee the implementation of our safety policies and procedures at our job-site locations by conducting routine jobsite inspections, performing safety training to personnel, ensuring that training documentation is completed, and being a well-rounded safety resource for the projects.To be successful in this role, you must be detail oriented, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment and work efficiently and independently to meet crucial deadlines. All candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, lift 50 lbs., and have a strong commitment to safety. Typical work schedule is 50-60 hours per week.Specific Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsible for ensuring that the local project sites are adhering to the company’s Safety policies and procedures.Conduct regular jobsite safety visits and have regular contact with the jobsite crews.Ensuring that all Supervisors have the Safety Tools (forms, training, procedures, supplies, etc.) needed to complete every project safely.Maintaining and updating the local job site safety files as neededProviding new employee orientation safety training and submission of new hire paperwork to the corporate headquarters.Ensure that project sites are compliant with OSHA and site-specific safety requirements.Maintain a good working relationship with project site personnel.Assist in incident investigations with project site leadership.Visit all project sites from time to time to lead on Safety.Schedule and perform trainings for crew members and supervisors.Ensure that every employee is up to date with necessary safety trainings.Maintain good communication with the Corporate Safety Director regarding jobsite safety issues, safety program reviews, jobsite safety plans, and all other safety related matters.Help and assist local jobsites as needed.Attend training courses as necessary to continually build your safety knowledge.Must be punctual and reliableAdhere to strict safety policies and procedures at all times.Perform related duties and responsibilities as required by the supervisor.Wear all company required Personal Protective Equipment.Maintain cleanliness at the jobsite.Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.Key CompetenciesLeadership Abilities – lead by setting the example that others need to follow.Able to prepare and perform presentations to job site teams.Able to prepare and perform in-house training.Intermediate to advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint programs. Should be comfortable with basic computer functions.Good understanding of OSHA/MSHA laws and compliance best practices.Ability to travel between project sites as needed.Excellent written and verbal communication skills – articulate and diplomatic manner1 to 3 years of experience in Safety, preferably in the Construction Industry.OSHA 10, 30, or 510 highly desirableAbility to work well and communicate effectively with others.Ability to speak up and address issues when identified.Superior attention to detail.Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with capability to meet rapid, frequent deadlines.Passion for change and continuous improvement in Safety processes and systems.Positive attitude and work ethicAble to work independently or as an active member of a teamExcellent interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of managementAbility to maintain strict confidentiality is a must.Working Environment and ConditionsThis position requires working indoors and outdoors. While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration.
