Position : Automation Test Engineer – SC Full-Time

Job Description : Basic Function
The Engineer in the position will be responsible for assessing(testing) the software quality of the smart home IoT applications. This includes developing Automation Framework development and maintenance, automation test scripts creation, testing the product with a web application, mobile app, home assistants (Amazon, echo, Google home, etc..), and HMI. The engineer will work closely with the project lead and business users during the project life cycle phases of testing and implementation.
Specific Responsibilities
1. Review and Analyze business specifications.
2. Follow Agile Scrum Methodology.
3. Collaborate with QA engineers, develop effective strategies and test plans.
4. Develop automation framework for Web Application, Mobile Applications [iOS + Android].
5. Prepare test plans, test scripts and analyze and report test results. Prepare Test Scenarios, writing positive, negative, and boundary value level test cases based on the given Requirement, Design Document, Technical Specification Document, Prototype, or wireframes.
6. Involved in Functional Testing, Smoke Testing, Regression Testing.
7. Participate in analyzing Requirement Documents, Design Documents, and Technical specifications documents and getting clarification on the requirements if required.
8. Perform peer code reviews to improve the quality of the test code base and optimize its execution.
9. Write clear and reproducible software defect incident reports on VSTS.
10. Pro-actively seek to make continuous improvements to Test coverage, execution, and automation
11. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
12. Comply with standards, procedures, guidelines, priorities, and schedules.
13. Work with the manager on requirement management, estimation, effort tracking, defect tracking, and quality metrics.
14. Maintains project tracking and provides status reports to the manager and customers in a timely manner.
15. Generate and manage daily/monthly time logs and related reports.
16. Well-developed interpersonal skills that can be leveraged in working with team members of different cultures and backgrounds. The ability to work across different teams within engineering and outside engineering to successfully achieve results.
17. Effective testing by checking device logs, cloud logs, app logs, etc.
Education Requirements
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computers or Information Technology or Electronics
Technical Skills
1. 4+ years of Manual and Automation testing experience on Web Applications, Mobile Apps, Appium, Voice testing, android studio/Eggplant.
2. 2+ years of experience in APIs, databases, and Cloud testing.
3. Proven experience as a QA tester or Individual Contributor role.
4. Experience with keyword and data-driven test automation
5. Experience with development tools, such as JUnit, Eclipse, Visual Studio, and TFS/Azure DevOps
6. Experience with development quality practices, including debugging and refactoring
7. Experience with version control tools such as Git or SVN
8. Experience implementing and testing APIs
9. Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies
10. Experience in writing SQL queries and database automation
11. Experience with test automation for software products deployed in a cloud or hybrid environment utilizing cloud service platforms such as Azure
12. Basic knowledge with Maven, CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
13. Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium or Appium or similar tools, have experience in Android and iOS automation.
14. Development experience with Java.
15. Ability to create tests of code logic using Java testing frameworks
16. IOT knowledge will be an added advantage.
17. Knowledge of Database queries, performance testing is added advantage.
