Job Description : The mission of TIOPA, Inc. is to ensure that patients throughout North Texas have access to quality, cost-effective medical care through a cohesive network of physicians.
TIOPA maintains contracts with more than forty managed care companies covering over one hundred plans of coverage including Commercial, Workers Compensation, Medicare, and Medicaid plans.
Our goal at TIOPA is to offer our Providers the best health plan agreements we possibly can.
The Credentialing Assistant works in our Credentialing Department assisting providers with the on-boarding process. It will be your responsibility to conduct verifications when necessary. These verifications include verifications of hospital privileges, medical licenses, DEA licenses, and provider malpractice insurance. The Credentialing Assistant must be assertive in contacting providers and outside agencies to obtain the documents required to remain in compliance with our payor contracts. Many of the hospital verifications can be performed online. That is not always the case, and you will have to reach out to third parties frequently. The ability to follow up in a timely fashion and maintain detailed documentation is essential to succeeding in this position. The ability to stand, bend, twist, and lift 25 pounds is necessary for filing and retrieving files.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Learn TIOPA’s process to credential providers
Build knowledge base of current requirements for credentialing providers
Answer phone and emails from potential providers inquiring into our credentialing process and associated fees
Maintain provider credentialing files and documents in credentialing.
Track licenses and professional liability expirations for appointed providers.
Contact providers, practice administrative staff, and credentialing representatives to request renewed documents for any document that has expired.
Verify hospital privileges on a regular basis and enter updated hospital affiliation data into our database
Follow up in a timely manner and escalate items as designated by policy.
Provide excellence in customer service for internal and external customers when handling communications, whether oral or written
On a monthly basis, pulls termed provider files and prepares for storage.
Scans initial and re-credentialing applications, once compete and creates hardcopy folder for filing
Learn process to enter applications to assist when needed
Assist the Credentialing Supervisor, as needed, with annual managed care plan audits
Assist management when requested
Miscellaneous projects as needed
All other duties as directed by the Executive Director, Director of Operations and Finance, or Office Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Proven ability to work multiple projects and meet deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
Prior experience preferred but will train qualified and motivated individual

The Office Manager directly supervises this position.
The working hours for this position are Monday thru Friday 8:00- 5: 00 minimum 40 hours weekly. Hourly or Salary depending on qualifications.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $37,440.00 – $42,000.00 per year
