Position : Warehouse Technician I

Job Description : Purpose and Scope of PositionThis position is a front-line position in the warehouse/distribution center at the Corporate Headquarters facility. The position will carry out a wide array of tasks relative to the process of receiving, storing, organizing, picking, and filling orders from stock, and shipping goods. A qualified candidate will be able to inspect goods upon arrival to determine level of acceptance, record those goods to inventory and begin the process of stocking or re-packaging for supply to other locations. The Warehouse Technician will be trained and licensed to operate a forklift and/or other type of pallet handling machinery and will assist with other facility related projects both on and off site when requested. The successful applicant shall ensure that all work is performed in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner. Both technical and customer service skills will also be required to excel at this dynamic multifaceted position.Organizational Relationship This position reports to the Vendor Accounts/Procurement Coordinator.Duties and Responsibilities Monitor supplies and report on low stock, as necessary.Receiving, processing, labeling, and storing incoming stock.Helping maintain clear records on all inventory and stock.Inspecting all stock for damages and keeping records of damages.Assist in organizing the warehouse and shop space.Assist with preparing orders for shipment.Recording exact arrival and departure times for shipments.Operating stock management tools; for example, a forklift, skid-steer, or material loader.Counting stock and keeping inventory records.Abide by all company safety and hygiene regulations.Contribute ideas on ways to improve or optimize warehousing procedures.Keep warehouse clean and organized daily.Participate in required training and meetings.Keep work area orderly and clean.Basic Qualifications (i.e., education, certifications, years of experience, etc.) High School diploma or equivalent,2+ years Warehouse experience preferredValid driver’s license and clean driving recordAbility to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other warehouse equipmentAdequate knowledge of warehouse data systemsKnowledge, Skills, Abilities, & Personality Characteristics Strong working knowledge of MS Office 365, accounting, and warehouse management softwareExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Proactive and willing to help othersWilling to learn new thingsExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software necessary to create and maintain reports and logs.Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.Must have the ability to work some nights and some weekends; work well with co-workers; maintain accurate records and establish and maintain cooperative relationships with vendors.Able to work both independently with minimum supervision and in a team atmosphere.Organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks and successfully meet deadlines.Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is required, with ability to learn other company used computer software.Able to effectively interact with customers, field staff, co-workers, and vendors.Flexible and able to work with seasonal adjusting schedules, priorities, and responsibilities.Competencies Strong leadership skill with the ability to carry out strategy and vision clearly and effectivelyAbility to understand and accomplish business objectives as established by leadershipAbility to exercise and apply sound judgmentStrong time management and project management skills.Ability to manage remote resourcesStrong communications skills both internal and external staffAbility to maintain excellent communications between field resources, managers, and theSenior Fire OfficersSafety culture mindsetFlexibility in work assignmentsAbility to travel when coordination, compliance or quality control is requiredPhysical Requirements The physical demands described here commonly used and must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
