Job Description : The David Heller Foundation is looking for a self-starter who can handle the day-to-day operations of running a not for profit 501 (c) 3. The ideal candidate would be passionate and committed to making difference in the community. Hours and responsibilities vary seasonally.Reports to: Secretary, Board of DirectorsSummary: Live true to the foundations purpose around PREVENTION, PREDICTION AND PREPAREDNESS around the effects of cardiomyopathy. Assists with a broad range of foundation activities including but not limited to keeping projects on target and on budget by managing income and expenses of the foundation, promoting new opportunities for the foundation through researching and implementing grant opportunities. Identifies opportunities to secure funds for ongoing development of the foundations’ work.Job Responsibilities: Plan and organize annual fundraising dinner and auction and act as the event managerWrite grants to secure revenue for specific projects of the foundationFacilitate development of new ideas for the foundationDevelop and maintain budgets for various projectsAssist withing maintaining requirements of a 501 (c) 3 organization. Including tracking and managing revenue and expenses as required for a non-profitDevelop marketing material on behalf of the foundation including managing the foundations social media pagesBuild community relationships and serve as face of the foundation with external partnersManage partnership with the OSAA to manage the identification and distribution of portable AED’s to High Schools and communities in needLead monthly committee meetingsProvide formal updates to the Board of DirectorsJob Skills: Must be a self-starter and able to work independently with minimal direction. Possess exceptional organizational skills to accomplish work under deadlines. Thinks creatively.Demonstrates passion for work of a nonprofit organization. Able to deal with varied audiences communicating ideas and plans effectively both verbally and in writing. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs. A basic knowledge of Quick Books and database management preferredEducational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in communication, business or related field or equivalent job experience in duties described under job responsibilities.Job type: Part-timeHours: Flexible.
