Full-time – 40 hours/week
$19.96 – $23.96 /hour –
These positions are eligible for a 5% bilingual differential if the successful candidate meets the Food Share standard on our Spanish bilingual test.
We have two positions available.

Our Community Programs Coordinators work with community partners and leaders to connect existing food pantries to neighbors. They build and support new partnerships that bring food resources to areas and people who are underserved. They listen well and think critically about where food resources are needed. They increase food distribution capacity and safety.
You are experienced at working alongside or advocating for people who face systemic oppression or underrepresentation… This could include people identifying as BIPOC, rural, veteran, children, or other groups.
Our Community Programs Coordinators serve as liaisons for food pantries supporting their work to strengthen their equity focus. They speak to their own lived experience of hunger, poverty, or adversity; uplift and create space for the voices of our neighbors facing hunger; and are willing to join an organization developing its Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice path.

Our Community Programs Coordinators prioritize trust with our partners to accomplish their dual responsibilities – provide resources and monitor compliance with state and federal regulations.

We distribute nutritious food for individuals and families to more than 100 local partners, including food pantries and meal sites, and deliver Meals on Wheels to homebound seniors and adults with disabilities. We operate an urban farm and support a network of community gardens that connect people and their food and mobilize community members to address systemic issues that lead to hunger. Statement of Purpose:
To foster a collaborative environment with current and potential food partners to create welcoming and equitable spaces for our community members to receive food services.
Summary of Role:
The Community Programs Coordinators are responsible for increasing capacity of and supporting our network of over 100 partnering food pantries and meal sites by developing strong, partnership-forward relationships through timely communication, training, and resource development as well as annual monitoring, and collaboration with our operations department. The coordinators work with communities to identify and develop food resources that serve the needs of that community. All of this work is done with an eye towards equity and serving underserved populations.
Core Areas of Responsibility
Food Partner support and monitoring (50%): Provides support for the Food Share’s Partner meal site and food pantry network by organizing regular trainings and communications and conducting annual monitoring, all while providing excellent customer service
New Partnership and Service Direction (30%): plans and coordinates partnerships and programming based on increasing food access for underserved communities
Information Management (20%): Collects, verifies accuracy, and reports program data for a variety of internal and external sources.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities but may provide leadership, guidance and training to meal sites, pantries and/or volunteers.
Areas of Responsibility, Evaluation and Essential Functions:
Food Partner support and monitoring (50%): Provides support for the Food Share’s Partner meal site and food pantry network by organizing regular trainings and communications and conducting annual monitoring, all while providing excellent customer service.
Contributes to the development of direction and vision for agency/partner network to ensure high quality emergency food access across Marion and Polk counties in collaboration with Director of Community Programs.
Proactively builds positive relationships with contracted partners that encourage a culture of trust, collaboration, and philanthropy.
Provides excellent customer service to our network of Partner meal sites and pantries.
Conducts annual meal site and pantry monitoring and occasional extra assessments of network programs. Ensures adherence to network, state and federal standards and regulations.
Develops and implements client focused, equity-based best practices, education, and programming
Works with Agency Relations/Programs team to develop the pantry and meal site network, which includes coordinating and facilitating meetings, organizing an annual training, and managing meal site and pantry communications.
Collaborates effectively with Operations Department to ensure good service and consistent communication with Partner Agencies and clients.
Assists partners in becoming interconnected with neighborhood, Food Share and regional resources to provide clients referrals and increase food security.
Facilitates applications for Oregon Food Bank funds and other financial resources for partner meal sites and pantries.
Supports programs taking place at agencies, including cooking classes, health screenings, healthy food promotion and other programming.
Investigates and responds to complaints in a professional manner. Responsible for Partner meal site and pantry adherence to civil rights and food safety guidelines and customer service standards.
Leads partner agency disciplinary action in cases of non-compliance. Addresses and resolves problems in collaboration with Agency Relations team, Oregon Food Bank and DHS.
Assists, as needed, with coordination of operations activities.
New Partnership and Service Direction: plans and coordinates partnerships and programming based on increasing food access for underserved communities
Develops new programs and approaches to address underserved communities or service gaps, in collaboration with the Agency Relations/Community Programs Team and Director of Community Programs.
Brings together community stakeholders for needs assessments as well as encouraging collaboration
Attends community meetings and events
Handles new agency partnership requests with respect to organization and community needs. Manages their onboarding.
Information Management: Collects, verifies accuracy, and reports program data for a variety of internal and external sources. As well as providing information on food-services for the community.
Gathers, analyzes, and compiles network client service data. Leads the production of monthly and quarterly reports for Oregon Food Bank, Marion-Polk Food Share departments and outside funders.
Updates and maintains organized program files and meal site and pantry database information to keep program information accessible and current for accurate data collection and communication purposes of multiple departments.
Maintains the Marion Polk Food Share Get Help page with updated partner agency distribution information.
Maintains an updated meal site and pantry resources online
Keeps food guides, up to date and regularly distribute to partners.
Other duties as assigned.
. Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:
Experience providing clear and effective communication including explaining program requirements to a wide audience
Experience using Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, Teams and PowerPoint) in a job environment.
Experience participating in successful and inclusive community-informed projects while working across teams, departments, or organizations.
Experience facilitating in-person and/or virtual engagement processes, trainings, or events with diverse community groups/individuals.
Experience engaging, building and maintaining relationships with diverse backgrounds such as: racial, ethnic, cultural, geographic, socioeconomic, and other underserved/underrepresented communities.
Experience with compiling and analyzing feedback or program data and sharing findings and recommendations in clear and impactful reports
Additionally, the successful candidate(s):
Must be willing to become knowledgeable of food safety laws and regulations including earning a food handler’s card or Serve Safe certification.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen (excluding THC) and full background check.
Must pass driving record check and be insurable through Marion-Polk Food Share’s vehicle insurance policy.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Passionate about serving organizations working with Marion Polk Food Share and have lived experience of hunger or poverty, or strong interest in food security or poverty issues.
Dedicated to solving issues of diversity, equity and inclusion.
Excellent customer service and verbal and written communication skills.
High level of interpersonal skills with demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
Excellent organizational and follow through skills required. Ability to successfully balance multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
Job Conditions:
This job is currently a hybrid job with the ongoing potential for hybrid work. Two – three days a week in the office is required. Travel to locations throughout Marion & Polk counties can be frequent. Work may be performed at a workstation, in a warehouse environment and at Partner meal site and pantry locations. May occasionally lift, move, and carry objects more than 30 pounds. Frequent driving for up to two hours and standing for periods of time up to 2 hours will be required. During frequent Partner meal site and pantry store visits, work is subject to varying indoor and outdoor temperatures and road and walkway surfaces in all seasons. May work or travel out of the local area and work outside normal working hours, such as evenings and weekends, on occasion
The Food Share provides essential services to our neighbors in Marion and Polk counties. As a result, all Food Share employees may be asked to report to work during local public health, weather, or other environmental emergencies.
