In addition, Heritage Health Food caters to consumers who are looking for assistance with current health concerns that include Dairy Free, Kosher, Vegan and Non-GMO products.Today, Heritage Health Food is a multi-million dollar company with a Michigan-based manufacturing plant and corporate offices in Chattanooga TN that sell and market plant-based deli meats, deli rolls, meat patties and breakfast proteins to consumers through natural and conventional food retailers and through the foodservice channel.REASON FOR POSITION: Heritage Health Food’s strategic growth plan seeks to leverage their established product assortment of meat alternative products and capitalize on the tremendous growth of the plant-based market. As part of the senior team, the Plant Manager will be working in an exciting and unique environment where significant growth is possible while staying true to the company’s culture of a strong work/life balance.THE POSITION: Reporting directly to the CEO, the Plant Manager will take ownership and accountability for the entire operation of the HHF manufacturing facilities including Production, Food Safety, P&L goals, Purchasing, Inventory Management, QA, Co-manufacturing, R&D, and HR, ensuring that all goals are met or exceeded with a culture of continuous improvement. Additionally, the Plant Manager will provide coaching and leadership.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Food Safety-Ensure adherence to all health and safety policies/protocols and promote the highest level of food safetyContinuous Improvement-Lead the development, execution and monitoring of the overall operational objectives to achieve safety, quality, maintenance and performance improvementCost Savings-Lead the continuous improvement program to deliver opportunities in cost reduction while maintaining and improving quality and customer serviceLeadership-Continually coach, direct, and train employeesMaintain/develop programs to collect data to continuously improve productivity, uptime and reliabilityCoordinate manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipmentAssist in the development and execution of operational and capital budgets, policies and proceduresEnsure that all plant personnel are operating in compliance with plant, corporate, customer and governmental regulations and proceduresLead/team up with R&D for new product development and product improvementsCo-lead Co-manufacturing opportunities and ensure a balance of new business while insuring Worthington brand production is deliveredTake responsibility for plant capacity and operating plansTake responsibility for maintaining SQF certificationQUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATIONBS/BA degreeMinimum of 10 years’ experience in Food Manufacturing, with 5 years in plant operationsMinimum of 5 years’ progressive responsibility in managing peopleSix Sigma or Lean initiatives experience requiredP&L responsibility for manufacturingStrong experience level with Excel, WMS, demand planning, Microsoft Office and ERP systems – Netsuite an advantageSolid track record of developing business relationships with suppliers and vendorsStrong negotiation skills and a results-oriented mindsetSolid track record in discovery, analysis and presenting insight and valueAbility to motivate and inspire teamwork and individual excellenceExperience with products that have a frozen supply chain including post manufacturing and 3rdparty warehousing is preferredSOFT SKILLS & PROFESSIONAL QUALITIESIntegrityDesire to winOutstanding internal and external communication skillsHonestyIntellectual curiosityTeam building and motivational skillsTime management skillsHigh energyAbility to prioritizeStrong oral and written communication skillsResults orientedJob Type: Full-timeSchedule:Monday to FridayEducation:Bachelor’s (Preferred)Work Location: One location
