Position Purpose

To contribute as a programmer on application development, enhancements, maintenance and support activities for multiple applications across all SDLC phases.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities
Design and develop procedural programming solutions
Should be able to write queries using complex joins, filter criteria, type cast when required
Design and develop SQL queries for the interfacing solutions required
Write Database code using the best practices whenever possible and help in tuning and refactoring legacy database code
Carry out SQL tuning whenever required to ensure the queries are performing optimally
Should be able to debug issues in SQL queries or any of the database constructs
Should carry out detailed unit testing based on the scenarios provided.
Should perform database designing
Should be comfortable to work using Database development tools
Should create technical documentation such as the entity relationship diagrams, unit-testing documentation and technical design specifications for the deliverables.
Should be able to code using various procedural constructs such as Packages, Procedures, Functions etc.
Should be able to work on the basic Unix shell scripting commands required for accessing the various project components deployed on server or while launching the interfaces or for any adhoc scripting required to process the output.
Contributing Responsibilities
Should participate in stand ups and contribute to various project and organizational processes defined
Would be good to have IT experience in Finance domain

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

Mandatory Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge on Oracle Database SQL query writing
Strong knowledge of Procedural programming like Procedures, Functions, Triggers etc.
Good Understanding on CI/CD Pipeline
Good knowledge of version control tools, preferably Bitbucket
Good Knowledge on Linux/Unix environment including Shell Scripting.
Basic knowledge of oracle optimization (index, constraints, partition etc)
Ability & willingness to learn & work on diverse technologies (languages, frameworks, and tools)
Thorough understanding of complete Software Development Lifecycle
Experience in technical analysis and database designing.
Self-motivated, good interpersonal skills and inclination to constantly upgrade on new technologies and frameworks.
