Apple is seeking an experienced Business Manager to lead Apple News in Australia – including commercial, editorial, and publisher partnership relations. This role reports to the Country Director in Australia. The position requires a self-directed, adaptable team player & leader with a strong affinity to technology who is able to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.
Key Qualifications
A deep understanding and passion for News and a desire to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Significant partner management and project/partner management experience managing partnership objectives across audience development and revenue growth across advertising and subscription.
Experience driving commercial outcomes in advertising revenue and subscribers.
Experience in News editorial or digital content distribution.
Analytical mindset on the customer journey and opportunities within the subscription funnel.
Excellent understanding of the depth and breadth of software, both iOS and Mac, and a deep passion for technology.
.Excellent presentation skills and adept at communicating with publishers, developers, non-technical business partners and executive stakeholders.
Ability to think strategically and tactically.
Ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance.
Experience managing and motivating people and teams, fostering an environment of inclusivity, collaboration, and debate.
Energetic and collaborative team player with a proven ability to manage schedules and work effectively with cross-functional teams under daily deadline.
Description
The News Business Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day commercial and editorial operations for Apple News in Australia, as well as relationship management with our local publishing partners. This is a hands-on position where the Business Manager is responsible for identifying and on-boarding new partners, ensuring our editorial tone of voice and presentation is a rich and diverse representation of all of the News and building the business growth through delivering exceptional customer experiences. The News Business Manager will also work cross functionally with other teams located in Australia, UK, Canada and Cupertino. The candidate lives and breathes news and culture trends in a wide range of topics; politics, sports, entertainment, finance, and technology. This individual has a strong understanding of good user-interface design principles, and a passion for this broad and evolving space. Skills essential to this role are: outstanding communication, business development relationship management, the ability to deliver exceptional curation and ideas to attract and engage customers.
Education & Experience
University degree in journalism, communication, or a related field. Post-Graduate is a plus.
