Job Description : A well established and successful group of Care Homes is currently recruiting for a Part-Time Assistant Accountant to join their small, friendly, head office team in the centre of Mere Green, B74. The main duties will initially be to run the company payroll function, working with our payroll bureau; as well as having responsibility for the whole purchase ledger function. Once settled it is anticipated you will also adopt other roles, including billing and credit control, assisting with the production of monthly management accounts, and other ad hoc projects as they arise.You will always be busy, but will have a good varied workload, and be working with a small, knowledgeable, and approachable team, who will support you to develop your understanding of the role.Ideally you will:* Be qualified or working towards a professional accountancy qualification ( ACCA, CIMA, AAT level 3 and above.* Have previous experience (two years minimum) of dealing with payroll in the administration of employee forms, checking timesheets, cross referencing to annual leave and absence planners, updating rotas and working on spreadsheets.* Have strong experience of Purchase ledger processing, ( two years minimum) working with staff and suppliers to ensure that each invoice is correctly addressed, authorised, coded and paid.* Be IT literate, comfortable and experienced working with Excel, and ideally Sage based software (currently TAS).** Show excellent attention to detail, be able to concentrate and prioritise your workload and self-manage your time to make sure everything is done to the correct process, in a timely fashion.If you are interested in the post you will receive an Application Pack with detailed Job Description and Person Specification.In return you will:* Have a great opportunity to work for a continuously developing and expanding group of companies.* Work for a small team with minimal layers of management, so you can potentially make a real and significant difference to the successful running of the homes. We do offer some flexibility and can accommodate the need to work around family commitments, e.g. the school run.* Additional hours over contract may be available to meet the needs of the business; These will be paid in addition to normal salary, or can be taken in TOIL.* Have 28 days holiday a year inclusive of bank holidays.* Have free parking on site in a central location, with good road and public transport links.* The Directors value our employees and often show their appreciation; e.g. an annual Christmas Gift card for all staff.* Salary £25,000 per annum full time with an increase to £27,000 per annum full time after successful probation of 3 months.
