Role Description

Job Purpose

Responsible for Quality Assurance of Sanitary ware-Ceramics and Flushing systems including Cisterns and allied categories

Primary Responsibilities

Business Responsibility Areas
Key Performance Indicators

1. Quality Control
· Formulate Quality specifications and acceptance criteria for each product category in line with the requirements of performance and life
· Devise test methods and inspection processes to ensure adherence to specifications based on International standards and best practices in the industry
· Monthly reporting and analysis of rejection levels with root cause and identify action areas to ensure early detection and reduction in rejections to enable productivity
· Conducting Process audits across vendor locations on monthly basis
2. Customer Complaint elimination
· Analysis of customer complaints, identifying trends and arriving at action plan for elimination
· Root cause analysis based on a comprehensive check of factors attributable to manufacturing/ usage/installation etc.
· Implementation of Corrective and Preventive action to eliminate complaints considering all attributable causes
· Providing support to customer service team wherever required to enable timely resolution of the complaint
· Field visits to understand issue with reference to site conditions
3. New product validation and testing
· Formulating an exhaustive checklist for validation of new products prior to introduction/ development of alternates
· Performing testing and validation and arriving at the life and usage recommendations to help decide warranty
· Preparing and implementing additions./ changes in inspection and testing as required
· Competition benchmarking for aesthetic and performance parameters to serve as input to design
· Market visits to understand feedback and enable improvements in future designs
· Packaging development and improvement to eliminate damages during transit and storage
4. Vendor development
· Evaluation of proposed vendors from with respect to infrastructure and capability to provide consistency in quality
· Onboarding new vendors on the quality systems and processes
· Audit at monthly level and publishing Quality Score
5. Spares definition and management
· Identifying spare parts required for efficient complaint resolution and reducing cost of poor quality
· Definition of spares and ensuring availability for service in coordination with purchase and planning teams
· Ensuring implementation of improvements done in FG across spares available with service team to ensure no repeated complaints
6. Upgradation of Quality systems to move from inspection to assurance
· Arriving at right test methods to minimize inspection time while ensuring zero defects
· Identifying and implementing lab infrastructure required to enable the same
· Digitization of Quality records to enable easy retrieval and better analysis
a. Near Zero customer complaints in Sanware, cisterns and allied categories
b. 100% adherence to inspection and testing protocols across suppliers and SKUs
c. 100% implementation of CaPa for complaints in received month 1 before the end of month 2 and zero recurrence of same issue
d. 100% adherence of new products to defined specs
e. Timely publishing of MIS reports for rejections, complaint trends etc.
f. 100% adherence to sampling plans with minimum inspection time and resources
g. Zero cases of Damage/Missing complaints

Role Requirements / Specifications

Qualifications
Essential
· B.Tech in Mechanical /Industrial Engineering/ Ceramic Technology

Previous Experience
Essential
· 5 + years of experience of working with reputed players in Sanitaryware industry, in manufacturing/quality departments

Functional Competencies
· In-depth understanding of manufacturing and quality processes for Sanitaryware and Cisterns
· Knowledge of Hydraulics and Engineering design
· Basic knowledge of MS Office
· Hands-on experience in SAP will be an added advantage

Behavioral Competencies
· Good Communication skills
· Knowledge of Gujarati would be an added advantage
· Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a cross-functional team
· Assertive and confident
· Result oriented
